Hi @theKuntaMC , I’d like to continue this proposal through SIP, as I am withdrawing it from SDGP. Thank you
The goods news: You’ve already initiated the SIP process by posting this idea!
The bad news: This thread hasn’t had any comments in a few weeks and needs to have significant community support & some upvotes (top left of the page) before it gets invited for curation.
So, the hard part starts now : )
Moving an idea forward is often likened to running a political campaign. You’ve got to advocate for your idea with the voters (like the @Delegates), make changes when it will please the majority, and get support here on the forum.
I will bring this up again with our admin team, too, since we do already track DAO spending and it is shared on the dashboard + the reports thread.
Thanks @theKuntaMC and agreed, tracking exists today in some capacity. The goal here is to improve the process so the community doesn’t have to hunt for info across threads and dashboards, and updates are more visible and automatic.
@delegates Thanks everyone for the earlier feedback! I wanted to share that the proposal is now prepared for execution (2-week timeline, with first deliverables in 2 days). I’d love to hear your thoughts on whether this adds value alongside the current dashboard/reporting. Any feedback or upvotes here will help move it forward.
Having already worked with the DAO and contributed to tracking projects for Sandbox, like SEV, we’d like to share our perspective, both from a technical standpoint and as active members of the DAO.
While the idea has potential, we don’t believe it’s strong enough to justify using treasury funds at this time.
Currently, with:
• Dune Analytics
• The internal Notion site used by TheDAO Core to track milestones
• The Forum
• SEV (in development)
• Snapshot
• Services provided by community members
• And potentially other tools we may be overlooking
…it seems there are already enough resources in place to cover what this proposed platform sets out to do.
A basic platform built with V0 to achieve similar outcomes likely wouldn’t add enough value to warrant funding.
That said, a more complete platform—one that integrates the tools mentioned above, allows tracking of shared revenue from DAO-funded projects, includes issued grants and larger programs like Questbook with the Domain Allocator initiative, offers integrations with the official Sandbox site, and reflects the broader treasury managed by the organization—could provide real value.
If the community sees value in pursuing something more ambitious, we’d be glad to take part in the process and compete for the opportunity to bring that vision to life.
Thanks for weighing in @WakeUpLabs.
From your comment, the “more complete platform” you describe ,integrating existing tools, supporting grants/programs, and providing a unified view is exactly the direction we’re proposing here. It’s not just a basic tracker; the scope already includes the integrations and visibility you mentioned as missing pieces.
While we respect the work you’ve done with SEV and other DAO-related initiatives, the reality is that none adelivery has been a challenge with your group in the past more recreantly. Our proposal is designed to address that gap by committing to clear milestones, transparent progress, and faster iteration, so the DAO can see results sooner rather than later.
@WakeUpLabs The key point of our proposal is unification. Instead of requiring contributors and DAO members to jump between Dune, Notion, Snapshot, SEV, and other tools, we’re building a single platform that consolidates those functions.
We’ve already delivered projects across Polkadot and other ecosystems, and are currently working on more, all with timely delivery and consistency. Given that some recent projects have struggled to deliver, we believe focusing on reliable execution alongside innovation is essential before taking on additional initiatives.
Thanks for the clarification, as we mentioned above. We believe the idea could be worthwhile, but unfortunately, before your comment, the scope of the project still wasn’t clear to us.
As for the deliverables… we’re a transparent company that takes accountability seriously and keeps the DAO informed at all times. That’s exactly what the forum is for: to share updates, discuss and communicate.
In the SEV project, we were able to speak with everyone involved throughout the process to clarify progress, address delays and answer any questions.
We appreciate you sharing your perspective. We’ll keep it in mind as we continue striving for excellence and improving every day to provide outstanding service to all our partners.
