Grant Proposal: Metaverse Studio School (MSS) Q1: Name of your Grant Metaverse Studio School (MSS): Upskilling Kenyan Creators for the Sandbox Economy Q2: Total Grant amount in USD ($) $2,500 Q3: Evaluation Factor – Specific Objective: The Metaverse Studio School (MSS) will train and onboard a new cohort of 100 Kenyan digital creators (ages 18–30) into The Sandbox ecosystem through a 5-week bootcamp focused on asset creation, game design, and monetization strategies. End Results: • 100 participants with verified Sandbox wallets and onboarding completion. • 50+ original assets created using VoxEdit. • 10+ fully built experiences designed with Game Maker. • Localized content and modules in Swahili to support non-English-speaking learners. This bootcamp will run in Nairobi and Mombasa at two innovation hubs, concluding in a showcase that will feature top creator projects and a live Sandbox pitch session. Q4: Evaluation Factor – Measurable Milestone 1: Bootcamp Development + Recruitment (30%) • Curriculum finalized with Sandbox tools and monetization modules. • Swahili translation of essential documentation. • Recruitment of 100 participants via local tech hubs and social media. Milestone 2: Bootcamp Delivery + Projects (40%) • 10 sessions hosted in Nairobi and Mombasa. • Participant attendance rate over 80% (measured via registration system). • Minimum 50+ assets created in VoxEdit and submitted to Sandbox. Milestone 3: Showcase + Community Activation (30%) • 10 playable experiences uploaded to Sandbox. • Livestreamed community showcase of 10 finalist projects. • Launch of MSS Discord server with at least 80 active members by September 1. Q5: Evaluation Factor – Accountable Primary Public Contact: Miriam Nyaboke – @MiriamCodes Secondary Public Contact: Brian Otieno – @BriOtieno3D Both contacts have previously led educational and onboarding projects in the Web3 space and are independently associated with the Creators’ Commons Collective in Kenya. Q6: Evaluation Factor – Realistic Impact on The Sandbox Ecosystem: This project supports Sandbox’s core goal of onboarding diverse creators into its ecosystem. Africa’s fast-growing creative economy is underrepresented in the metaverse, and MSS directly addresses this by: • Educating emerging African creators in Sandbox-native tools. • Generating original content (assets and games) deployable within The Sandbox. • Creating a community pipeline of content, users, and future ambassadors for Sandbox in East Africa. Through localization, practical creation, and community-building, this project offers a scalable and relevant path to inclusion. Q7: Evaluation Factor – Timely All deliverables will be completed by August 28, 2025. Timeline Overview: • July 5–20: Curriculum creation, recruitment, logistics setup. • July 21–August 17: Bootcamp delivery (10 sessions per city). • August 20–28: Final showcase, evaluation, and community server launch. Q8: Evaluation Factor – Disclosure Miriam Nyaboke – Digital learning specialist. Founder, Creators’ Commons Collective, beneficiary through project management, DAO visibility. Brian Otieno – 3D artist and game dev. Contributes educationally and technically, paid via stipend. Creators’ Commons Collective – Nairobi-based grassroots Web3 incubator supporting underrepresented creatives.
