Hi everyone,

As part of Milestone 2, we’d like to share something special with you: “Our Gift to the Community” a conceptual prototype created by the design team at WakeUp Labs, which we’re showcasing in the video.

This isn’t something we plan to implement in the current version of the UGC Platform. It’s simply a creative gesture from our designers a visual exploration of what the platform could look like in the future, beyond the version we’re launching.

Think of it as a spark for future conversations with the DAO and inspiration, not a product roadmap.

Meanwhile, we’re actively building the actual version we presented at the end of Milestone 1, and that’s what we’ll be delivering in the coming weeks. In the next few days, we’ll share a backend update to show how development is progressing behind the scenes as part of our Milestone 2.

Thanks again for your trust and support. Let’s keep building together.

Hey everyone!

We’re happy to share that WakeUp Labs has completed Milestone #2 of the UGC Platform funded through SIP-19.

This second stage was focused on getting the backend up and running, and we’re excited to show you the results in a demo video recorded by our development team.

You can find the video in this Youtube Link

What we’ve built

Our team focused on connecting all the backend components that power the platform. Here’s a quick overview of what’s been accomplished:

  • Smart Search Engine (GPT-4 Turbo): Players can now search for experiences using natural language prompts, powered by the GPT-4 Turbo model. This makes the search experience faster and more intuitive.

  • Core APIs and Database: We designed and implemented the backend architecture to store and serve UGC content in a scalable way.

  • Access to Missing Data: Early on, we highlighted missing data in the public APIs. Thanks to @Biversen from the DAO forum, who shared internal endpoints with us, we avoided having to build a manual scraper and instead worked with more complete, reliable data. This made the platform much easier to use and maintain.

  • OpenAPI Documentation: We implemented Swagger-style documentation for both the main backend and the internal endpoints to make testing and development easier.

  • Backend-Frontend Connection: The backend is now fully connected to the live frontend, powering real-time search and dynamic data loading.

  • Fixes and Infrastructure: We resolved key issues such as foreign key conflicts, improved data handling, and deployed the backend to a live server environment connected to our shared database.

Challenges

  • Sandbox API limitations: While we now have access to internal endpoints, they aren’t officially documented or maintained, so we’re still working with some uncertainty.

  • Search tuning: GPT-4 Turbo performs well with natural queries, but we’re continuing to improve how metadata is handled to deliver more consistent results.

What’s next

We’ve officially started Milestone 3, focused on building the full user interface and developing features like Promoted Experiences, Smart AI Search and Support Creator.

Thanks to the DAO for the continued trust and support. We’ll keep sharing progress openly and would love to hear any ideas, feedback, or questions.

Let’s keep building, for the community by the community.

This is a great initiative; as a solo creator, I’ve been faced with challenges such as content creation tools to help me push out more quality content. And not have the capability to subscribe to advanced tools.

Hey everyone!

We’re excited to share that WakeUp Labs has completed Milestone #3 of the UGC Platform funded through SIP-19.

This stage was all about bringing the platform to life. We built the full frontend, connected it with the backend, and completed the full loop from search and discovery to creator tools and sponsored experiences. The platform is now in staging, functional, and undergoing continuous testing and design refinements.

You can check out a short demo video crafted by Miki from the WakeUp Labs team to see how everything works.

What we’ve built

Here’s a quick overview of what we delivered:

  • Frontend Interface: A fully responsive and user-friendly interface for exploring UGC experiences.
  • Smart AI Search: Users can type anything from “casino experiences” to “food games” and get ranked results powered by a GPT-based engine. It combines views, ratings, and search intent. We’ve also added a fallback system to always return relevant suggestions, even when there’s no exact match.
  • Quick Filters: For fast browsing, we included search pills that let users explore popular categories instantly, without relying on the AI engine.
  • Sponsorship Tool: Creators can sponsor their experiences and feature them on the homepage. The process is simple: paste the experience ID, validate it, connect a wallet, and pay with crypto.
  • Support Creators: Users can support creators by sending tips or sharing experiences through X, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, and more.

What’s next

We’re officially moving into Milestone #4, focused on polishing and launching the platform. Our next steps:

  • Production Launch: Deploy the final version to production servers
  • Comprehensive Testing: Conduct internal QA and user testing to ensure platform stability
  • User Onboarding: Start inviting creators to use the platform and collect actionable feedback
  • Sponsorship Middleware: Build a secure middleware that lets creators sponsor experiences, validate their IDs, pay with crypto, and appear in real time on the homepage
  • Search Tuning: Improve metadata handling and ranking accuracy
  • Cross-Device Support: Ensure full responsiveness across all devices
  • Final Documentation: Refine and complete documentation for easier maintenance

We’re incredibly grateful to the DAO for your ongoing support, feedback, and trust.

If you’d like to share ideas or feedback you’re more than welcome.

Let’s keep building for the community, by the community.

Awesome! That’s great to hear. Looking forward to seeing this developed! :slightly_smiling_face:

Great to see AI being integrated into the search engine. Also really liking the monetization via the Features page. Question, if there’s currently 20 sponsored XPs, how will they be shown on the homepage? Ranked by latest or popularity or some other benchmark?

Thank you for your question. For now, we’ll be displaying them in an infinite carousel, two at a time. If this scales well and we see good adoption, we might consider changing the format in the future.

Hey everyone,
We’re proud to announce that WakeUp Labs has completed Milestone #4, marking the final phase of the UGC Platform funded through SIP-19. Check out the video presentation.

After a few months of design, development, testing, and iteration, the platform is now live (https://www.ugcplatform.xyz/) and ready to serve creators and players across The Sandbox ecosystem.

This milestone focused on production deployment, cross-device testing, creator onboarding, and final documentation. It also included building the sponsorship middleware, tuning our AI search engine, and running internal QA to ensure a stable experience.

More importantly, this moment marks the culmination of everything we’ve built together throughout all four milestones.

What We Built | Recap of All Milestones

  • Smart Discovery Tools
An AI-powered search engine that lets players find experiences using natural-language queries such as “I want to play a terror experience” or “top-rated casino games,” ranked by views, ratings, and intent.

  • Creator Visibility Features
Search filters, trending sections, and a sponsorship system that lets creators feature their experiences in just a few clicks, crypto-enabled and without gatekeeping.

  • Support Tools for Creators
Players can support creators directly through tips and by sharing experiences via X, Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, and more.

  • Backend Architecture
A backend with an internal layer, connected to unofficial endpoints thanks to help from DAO contributors.

  • Frontend Platform
A responsive interface with a homepage, smart search, and sponsorship and creator-support flows, built mobile-first and tested across devices.

  • Middleware for Sponsorships
A secure flow for creators to validate experiences, connect wallets, and feature their content on the homepage in real time.

  • Designs and Documentation
Dozens of visual prototypes, wireframes, and a special “community gift” that imagines a full-featured platform with real-time data and API access.

  • Community-Centered Process
Interviews with creators, players, and DAO contributors shaped our roadmap. Their voices are present in every decision we made.

Milestone 4 Deliverables

  • Production launch on live servers

  • Comprehensive internal QA and cross-device testing

  • Initial creator onboarding (we will do this more proactively in the next few weeks)

  • Middleware to support featured experiences

  • Metadata tuning for smarter AI search

  • Fully responsive support across devices

  • Completion of all technical and functional documentation

What’s Next

The platform is live, and we welcome any feedback the community may have.
From the beginning, this project set out to solve critical issues raised by the community: lack of visibility, missing analytics, limited monetization, and disconnection between creators and players. This is just the first step toward building an even more robust, intelligent, and expansive platform in the future.

Thank you to the DAO for the trust, feedback, and constant collaboration.

Let’s keep building.
For the community, by the community.

Nice! So I did a quick search for “Floor Droppers” and “Lanzer” just to see what it would do. Here were the results. Floor Droppers came up as it should have, but it didn’t realize that Lanzer was also a username with experiences.

Also, when I clicked the “Share via X” button it gave me this pretty cool X post. I’d recommend also putting in a link or mention of the UGC Platform  I think yall deserve the credit there

Also also, THANK YOU for putting in a tile vs list option. I think that’s a great quality of life thing

Also also also, when I clicked “Most Played” I was a bit confused as to how it was ranking it. Didn’t seem to be in “played” order.

Hey Lanzer, how are you? Thanks for your feedback. It really helps us see where we can improve. We’ll work on fixing those issues over the next days.

hey @WakeUpLabs , can you explain how it works please. I don’t understand where are the monetization features, the account panel ? Also, no result when I type my name. I’m totally confused

Hey @sebga thanks a lot for raising this :folded_hands: I totally understand the confusion.

What you’re seeing right now is the delivery from our side for this phase. Earlier we shared a “gift for the community” with a prototype showing the ideal path with dashboards, advanced monetization, and full profiles. That was meant as an aspirational preview. Since we didn’t have access to all the APIs and data we expected, we focused on shipping the technically feasible version today. We still wanted to show the long-term vision, so the community knows where this can go as the platform scales.

Here’s why things look this way:

  • There’s no account panel yet, and monetization is limited. What’s live now is the discovery layer: search, experience cards, and basic support options.

  • Monetization tools (donations, sponsored slots, $SAND rewards) are in the roadmap and will come as we unlock more access and collaboration with The Sandbox team.

  • The name search is limited because there aren’t open indexing APIs today. We’re pushing for this in future phases, and next week we’ll already be addressing the feedback @Lanzer shared with us.

  • We’ve just come back from winter holidays, so development is picking up speed again and improvements will roll out progressively.

So in short: this version is not broken it’s the feasible step we committed to deliver. The “gift” was to illustrate what’s possible if/when deeper integrations become available.

Thanks again for asking, it really helps us clarify things better for everyone

Hey everyone, hope you’re doing well. Thank you for the thoughtful feedback it’s been really helpful.
We’ve now shipped the requested updates, including @Lanzer suggestions:

  • Search by Creator name is live.

  • “Most Played” filters were adjusted for clearer results.

  • Social sharing now makes it explicit that experiences are from the UGC Platform.

Please take it for a spin and let us know if anything feels off. We’re here and responsive. Thanks again for the guidance and support!
