Hi folks! Just wanted to congratulate all elected DAs and wish all of the success on your mandate! I’m positive about the impact that it’ll bring to the DAO so excited to see the program unfold.

Thank you all! DMs are open for anything

Thanks Ivey! I really appreciate that you took the time to contribute to our community and were so willing to take on DA responsibilities. Please keep checking in on us, I know there will be plenty more opportunity to come.

The following seat in the Sandbox DAO Grant Program (SDGP) are currently inactive and require a new Domain Allocator be seated ASAP:
– Season Rewards & Game Creation (since Joseph is stepping down)

The SDGP SIP only funds this trial program until a set date from 4 months of launch. So, it’s important we find replacement DAs quickly.

Now, ASAP, the Admin Team requires input on the next actions to take in instances where elected SDGP candidates are either unresponsive or must resign. Thoughts?

This newly-seated DA would not serve the entire 4 months, but rather just until the end of the already-scheduled SDGP program.

OPTIONS:

  1. We run another election. – This would have to start next week and move fast. The risk here is not getting enough candidates since participation and interest levels are a major barrier.
  2. Admin Team appoints new DA. – The community is welcome to suggest names and encourage interest from qualified potential DAs. – What about appointing @KamiSawZe (Alex), who is on Joseph’s team, as a replacement for Joseph?
  3. When there is an empty seat, the Admin Team can manage a domain without a community-elected DA in place for the remainder of this trial program.

Any thoughts on this from anyone? @Delegates?
What’s the best option above?

NOTE: This DA will be overseeing a budget of $104,000 USDC

I’d be honored to hold the DA position until the next election. But I want to stress that I only wish to take this role with the blessing of the DAO community, and that it is only for expediency that this would not be going to a proper vote.

As many of you know, Joseph joined as my streaming co-host on the official Sandbox Livestream back in 2020. It was our work in judging game jams and giving live feedback on people’s creations that led to us founding The Council together. Since 2022, The Council has worked alongside The Sandbox to test experiences going into official events, officiate most game jams, review studio applications to join the Trusted Partner list, and verify milestones were met in the Game Maker Fund program.

The last bit about the GMF is probably most relevant to the Grant Program. Joseph always had the lead on the GMF tasks, which was why I eagerly supported his application to the DA position, though he and I jointly tested Partnership applications together. I’m confident I can help in the same capacity given my other experience in The Sandbox community and as a staff member for six years.

I’m happy to answer any questions you might have for me or my qualifications. And I hope to serve effectively for the coming few months until the next election cycle.

Normally I would say we need to run another election but as this is time sensitive I think it is best if the Admin Team appoints new DA until the end of the already-scheduled SDGP program.

I think @KamiSawZe (Alex) would be best suited to the position as he is a well known and trusted within the community. He also has a lot of relevant experience. Even if we have the election again then I would vote for Alex

Thanks for the update on where things are at for those two domains.

In this case I would prefer option #2.

I would support KamiSawZe stepping into that position. Thank you for being willing!

FULLY SUPPORT @KamiSawZe!
Alex and Joe are just a couple of the OGS that have poured their passion into every aspect of the TSB ecosystem and fully supported the community for years any way they could. Their contributions go beyond words. Honestly, I wouldn’t be me without them. Nuff’ said :bat::man_mage:

Hey @theKuntaMC

My preference is Option 3: allowing the Admin Team to manage the domain without a community-elected DA for the remainder of this trial program.

Considering the urgency and the likely challenges in organizing a fast election (Option 1) or appointing someone without broader community input (Option 2), I believe this approach offers the most straightforward and stable path forward. It ensures continuity with minimal disruption and keeps the program moving efficiently through the rest of its current cycle.

@KamiSawZe is a totally solid pick. Everyone knows him and respects him. It’s only a small budget and if it’s only for 4 months can it be done without a vote?

I support the nomination of @KamiSawZe

As @Jazwolf said, usualy we need a vote, but for this time, no need to vote, I fully support @KamiSawZe.

It’s been 5 days now and, having now received 10 up-votes for @KamiSawZe (Alex) and 0 comments of disagreement, we are going to send the contract his way and initiate onboarding as swiftly as possible so he may serve the remainder of the 4-month SDGP trial period.

:flexed_biceps:t4: Thank you to everyone for your patience and participation.
