The Ultimate Deathmatch PVP Tournament – Expansion Proposal

Hi guys,
@Geraldine, @Paul and @KamiSawZe
To start and book the assets production and trigger the Creators challenge to host the DET events I need to know following:

  1. Have I completed all the checks and is the grant completely accepted (still not clear if KYT was completed or not).
  2. How exactly should I calculate now what will be transfered per Milestone - is it SAND we discussed or will it be USDC? If its USDC - will it be converted according to the curse today or to the moment of transfer?

I must know it to be able to share this info with creators who will build the assets and the experiences. Would be not good if I promise SAND but will get USDC which will not be enough to buy the amount of SAND I promise them.

Thx

Hey guys, can we officially start? Please check my questions above! Thx

Hi @Geraldine @Paul ping…

Hey @sandsquad looks like everything is ready to go. Let me know when you’re ready for a milestone check.

Hi @KamiSawZe,

we have completed the 1st milestone :white_check_mark:

1. Step - Event launching
Event communication and schedules for Players are shared on all channels
The Builders challenge to host DET3 & DET4 and build a suitable game is scheduled and communicated.

Prize pools: 4,740 + 1,800 SAND
Marketing: 3,000 SAND
Total: 9,540 SAND

ETA: June 26rd

Please check the communication:

For players:

  • announcements on TSB discord in the influencers channel
  • shared in the sponsors discords (atariX, Dystopunks, CyberKongz, OctoHedz)

For creators:

Please as discussed transfer Total: 9,540 SAND to the dedicated wallet which will be used for this event:

0xc3Ed71bDeCd1942dac8bDF9beC26471655A73362

So that we can start more marketing activities and organize special fights and preparation PVP mini events and streams.

As discussed the invoicing changes a lot for us. We need to reevaluate everything in this case

Hi @KamiSawZe,

due to the new situation that the creating of the invoices for all the payments from DAO is reaquired we can suggest the new way of culculation. The reason is that creating an invoice produces a taxation case in our country (not even crypto transactions but the fact of invoice creation even if its not paid yet) and the invoiced amount will be directly taxed with around 40% income tax if we can not provide the proof of costs we had. Just providing the transactions proofs will not solve it as soon as they can be considered that we sent SAND to our own wallets - so we would need to provide also invoices from Marketing events, from players who got the rewards, devs and creators. This sitiuation is highly expensive and uncomfortable for us as soon as there is no money for the Sand Squad at all and we only manage the event and send rewards to other creators or players. It produces a high amount of additional work for us and in any case additional costs on our side.

The perfect solution would be to avoid invoices here as soon as the money are transfered to us just to be handed over to other parties.

If its not possible I would suggest this solution and recalculation.

  1. The condition for creators to get the rewards would be that they can provide an invoice or they will be validated and get rewards directly by DAO (they would need to complete KYC and generate there invoice for DAO to get rewrds).

  2. For the players this will not work - too many small trx and noone will invoice anything there :). So here we will need to add 50% on top of the planned rewards to cover at least main part of taxes (why 50% and not 40%? Because the taxes will be calculated on the whole sum incl. this additional payment. Example: we get 5000 SAND for rewards pool + 2500 SAND to cover taxes. The tax will be calculated on 7500 SAND and will be around 3000 SAND - so even in this case we would need to add 500 SAND to cover the prizes, but its OK.

So the recalculation for this case would look like this:

:warning: 1. Step - Event launching
Event communication and schedules for Players are shared on all channels
The Builders challenge to host DET3 & DET4 and build a suitable game is scheduled and communicated.

Prize pools: 4,740 + 1,800 SAND (new + 3,270 SAND to partially cover the taxes)
Marketing: 3,000 SAND (here we will ony do Marketing events where the invoices can be provided. No changes on the budget)
Total: 12,810 instead initially planned 9,540 SAND

ETA: June 26rd

:white_check_mark: 2. Step - Assets (no changes - the costs proofs will be available from creator invoices and catalysts buying confirmations)
Assets ordered and created and ready to be delivered (as files to be minted)
Creator fees: 5,000 SAND
Mint costs: 2,160 SAND
Total: 7,160 SAND

ETA: July 14th

:white_check_mark: 3. Step - Web Dev costs (no changes - the costs proofs will be available from dev invoice)
The web page thesandsquad.com is adjusted and new PVP section with the leaderboard and event Infos added.
Total: 2,300 SAND

ETA: July 14th

:white_check_mark: 4. Step - Experience for August defined (No changes. Creators will need to make invoice or this trx should be handled directly by DAO what we would prefer)
The creators game / experience to host the PVP tournament in August is chosen
Total: 4,000 SAND

ETA: July 28th

:white_check_mark: 5. Step - Experience for September defined (No changes. Creators will need to make invoice or this trx should be handled directly by DAO what we would prefer)
The creators game / experience to host the PVP tournament in September is chosen
Total: 4,000 SAND

ETA: August 25th

Hope its fine! For us its defenetely not the best way to handle the rewards. But its ok for this 1st try event. If it works fine we would need to discuss another long term solution. Thanks!

Thank you for your patience @sandsquad. I’ve updated the total for the grant to $8800 to reflect the extra needed for the taxes involved.
