I do feel like it carried many of the same qualities from AS4, and I feel it was really well done all around. I experienced even less issues than I did from Alpha season 4.
The new actions, double jump & fly, are game-changing, for sure. Really great addition. The dance one is so-so.
Also, client 11 added the ability to climb taller items, which was good. It also changed the way the avatar works on small platforms though which makes some experiences a lesson in futility now.
I think the biggest problem is that there are too many racing games of the same type. When you want to race with your friends over and over again, entering and exiting the game every 2 - 3 minutes is another reason not to play.
I would expect a UGC platform to have more UGC experiences within the Season, like AS4.
Double Jump and Fly feature is nice. Air Dance is unnecessary. but the fact that Double Jump can be done by wearing an outfit is another problem. I think this should be a feature in the game that the creator can turn on and off.
If we don’t count the bugs, lags and crashes, for me, it is a season that is fun at times, generally boring, where the same parkour games are played in a differently designed way, where I said yes, this experience must have been very good, but I was very disappointed.
Agree… definitely way too many racing games. And the fact you have to wait so long and basically restart the whole app just to race again is really annoying.
Agree… double jump should be on experience, not wasting a slot on an outfit too!
For completness overall I like the reduction of bugs compare AS4 and visually the experience are very very nice.
On the reward side this AS5 is the most expensive compare to AS4 and I am still not happy about the rewards distribution as a raffle that the top player ranked has barelly more chance than bots or multiaccounts to win.
Opportunity here would be to split the prices between with one part to leaderboard and another one a a raffle.
The worst thing of the season for me is the extra 4000 EP that were decided lately to be given to buyers of land in the wildlands as this is very unfair compare to a gamer that has spent hours climbing the leaderboards for weeks. I am stating this while I bought a land in this landsale before this announcement of 4000 EP so I will benefit from it and I am also a landowner. But in my heart, maybe not anymore in my fingers , I am still a gamer.
Enabling general public and large community to create content (UGC) is a tough initiative… most 3D development tools are very complex for the average person… But it is very promising future for sure
I really feel bad for Kaiten who was #1 until a few days before the end then saw all those others knock him off the top slot. The reality is though that all the leaderboard positions are bought. I (foolishly?) bought all the dinos.
Agree with your point about the problem with the odds in the raffle. The difference in points between the bottom and top of the leaderboard doesn’t give a huge odds difference, but the people at the top put in a lot more money and effort.
