Application #42 Crecimiento x Aleph Festival: Identity, Culture & Creator Economy in Latin America

Crecimiento x Aleph Festival: Identity, Culture & Creator Economy in Latin America**

Total Grant amount in USD ($) $25,000

Evaluation Factor – Specific

This grant supports The Sandbox’s involvement in the largest Web3 hackathon in Latin America, organized by Crecimiento, as well as follow-up community activations at Aleph Festival.

The requested $25,000 will be used as follows:

  • $10,000 → Identity and creator economy-focused bounties during our 3-day hackathon (Aug 29–31), engaging 2,000+ builders
  • $15,000 → Community events at Aleph Festival (Sept–Oct), including creator panels, wellness sessions, and art-led workshops exploring digital identity and self-expression

The Sandbox will play a core role in:

  • Supporting Latin American creators and builders
  • Incentivizing culturally aligned, identity-first hackathon projects
  • Driving long-term community activation through IRL initiatives

No additional context is needed: the grant is about amplifying creators and culture in Web3 through measurable and public events.

Hackathon Lead, Crecimiento

Both are publicly accountable, visible in the ecosystem, and directly responsible for delivery and execution.

Evaluation Factor – Realistic

The Sandbox is designed for self-expression and creative identity in the metaverse. Aleph Festival and the Hackathon enable exactly that—on-chain, in-person, and regionally grounded.

How this grant aligns with Sandbox’s mission:

  • Empowers Latin American creators via bounties, workshops, and content
  • Centers identity as a creative force, not a marketing gimmick
  • Prioritizes long-term builder engagement, not one-off interactions

This is not a gaming track. It’s a cultural immersion—wellness, storytelling, and self-expression built in public. The Sandbox will inspire and support a generation of Latam builders who are creating with purpose.

Evaluation Factor – Timely

The core Hackathon outcomes (funded bounties, submissions, reports) will be fully completed by August 30, 2025, in line with SGDP expectations.

Remaining funds will be used post-deadline (in September–October) for Aleph Festival’s cultural track.

Timeline Summary:

  • August 1–20 → Grant announced, bounty live
  • August 29–31 → Hackathon takes place
  • September 1–5 → Reporting & KPI delivery

Sept–Oct → IRL community events executed under Aleph Festival

How did you hear about the Sandbox DAO Grants Program?

Through DAO channels, peer builders in Web3, and ecosystem alignment with SGDP values.

Hi Crecimiento!

Thank you for taking the time to prepare a grant application.

$25K is outside the budget I have remaining. The max that can funded out of the Community Engagement domain is $3000. If that works for you, then we can discuss what that $3K can go to.

Thoughts?

Hi Lanzer! thanks for getting back to us so quickly!

I totally understand your point. Is there any chance this budget reach 5K? In that line the idea of this whole budget, whether is 3 or 5, is to go full on prizes for the participants of the hackathon.

Let me know your thoughts and happy to move this forward

It’s possible to do 5K, but I’m looking for a unique engagement idea beyond prizes, marketing, or sponsoring an event.

Something specific to Sandbox. Thoughts?
