☑️ Application #6 Onboarding Africans Students into Web3 | Blockchain Education and Development

Dear @Lanzer

Thank you for your thoughtful review, detailed observations, and continued support of our initiative. I truly appreciate your recognition of the groundwork we’ve laid and the effort going into bridging Web2-Web3 education across Nigerian universities.

Please find my responses to your specific concerns below:

  1. In-depth training for at least 10 students

Your concern:
“There is no documentation for the in-depth training of at least 10 students.”

The groundwork for this deliverable has been laid, but we are not yet at the execution stage due to a lack of funds to organize physical training sessions. The meetings with the Deans and university approval letter were key foundational steps, which secured us physical venues, and institutional access.

However, to deliver the in-depth training:
• We need funds to mobilize the tutors, provide training materials, and cover transportation/logistics for the sessions.

• The training will cover modules like Blockchain Fundamentals, Wallet Setup, Decentralized Identity, Navigating The Sandbox Game Maker & VoxEdit tools, and smart contracts.
  1. Certification of Participants

Your concern:
“Unable to find documentation for participants who completed the training.”

As training has not commenced due to the pending approval of Milestone 2 funding, no participants have been certified yet. However:
• Certificate templates are already in design, which includes Sandbox-branded completion badges.
• A follow-up post will feature participant photos, wallet addresses (for POAPs or NFTs), and airdrop of sandbox assets.
• The certification is tied directly to the in-person training and project showcase, which we are prepared to roll out within 7 days of funding.

  1. Launch and Support of Web3 Communities

Your concern:
“Unable to find documentation that a Web3 community was launched.”

The Web3 clubs are in the formation stage; pending the onboarding of trained students who will form the leadership base.
• At the University of Lagos, our community Crypto Elites and the Sandbox DAO has been registered as a partner with the school’s innovation hub to foster blockchain adoption. We are scheduled to host our first physical workshop and club induction as soon as funding is approved.
• At the University of Ibadan, we have received an invitation for a formal planning meeting with the Dean of Student Affairs (as mentioned in the update). This will solidify our position as a campus-recognized body for blockchain innovation.

The documentation for these clubs including flyers, onboarding forms, social groups, and registration forms, will be part of the next post update once the students are officially trained and assigned roles within the community structure.

Why Funding is Critical to Achieving Milestone 2

1.	Training Execution Requires Physical Presence & Logistics
• Tutors & Technical crew (Qin, Ozichi, and the technical crew) must be mobilized for each workshop event.
• Campus internet/power infrastructure is often unreliable, offline resources, printed materials, and training devices must be secured.
• Student incentives (snacks, T-shirts, books, pens, stickers) greatly boost participation and engagement.

2.	Student Retention Requires Structured Programs
• Without real-time workshops and follow-up mentorship, most students drop off after initial digital exposure. Physical workshops with Sandbox usage demonstrations is vital to retention.

3.	Deliverables Are Time-Sensitive
• University exams resume in August/September, and we must complete these programs before academic pressures kick in and also before the approved date of August, 30th.

4.	We Have Secured Institutional Buy-in, it is time to Execute
• Delaying this milestone may result in loss of momentum, rescheduling, or withdrawal of university interest.

Final Note

I completely understand your diligence in upholding the integrity of this process. Please rest assured that we are not only aware of what’s required, but have already laid all the groundwork. We are simply at the point where execution depends on the approval of Milestone 2 funding.

Qin @nehnyehnwah & Ozichi @bosslady_251 are seasoned and experienced web3 community builders and are also a part of several communities I’m in, from the Crypto Elites community to Apechain Africa community as well.

I and the ladies are a team on X, where we host weekly spaces on Apechain every Mondays themed APECHAIN ALPHA.

They have a lot of passion and dedication to making this grant project successful and their inputs have been great so far.

We remain fully committed to The Sandbox ecosystem’s success and building a model for future replication across African campuses.

Thank you for your time and continued support.

Warm regards,

Wisdom Alaribe
