  • Moderators post here only SIP that have been submitted & curated by project management team (as per Phase One of the Roadmap) using the provided template and emailed to sip@sandboxdao.com

SIP Submission and Approval Workflow (extract from the Constitution)

If you want to submit a SIP:

  • Ensure your proposal does not duplicate content from past SIPs.
  • Conflict Resolution: If a proposal conflicts with a Live SIP, the Live SIP will be voted on first. SIPs conflicting with approved ones can be resubmitted 3 months post-implementation of the previous SIP.

Reminder of the Workflow

  • Step 1 (Idea): Submit your idea in About the SIP Ideas category
  • Step 2 (Submission): Once invited, submit your SIP through the form.
  • Step 3 (DAO Team Review): The Sandbox DAO project management team will engage with the author to review and help curate the proposal
  • Step 4 (Discussion): The community will have 14 days to review and discuss the SIP on Discourse.
  • Step 5 (Special Council Review): Concurrently with the Community Review, the Special Council will review the SIP and publish its recommendation in accordance with the process set forth.
  • Step 6 (Voting): Upon close of the Community Review period, the administrators will publish the SIP to Snapshot for voting.
  • Step 7 (Implementation): If approved, the SIP will be referred to The
    Sandbox Foundation and the administrators for implementation.

Please ensure all SIPs are:

  • Aligned with The Sandbox DAO’s vision and values.
  • Adhering to the Code of Conduct on The Sandbox DAO’s website.
  • Using the official SIP template from The Sandbox DAO’s website.

Hi @Geraldine I’m looking at posting an idea for the DAO, It’s an event on August 31 & Sept 1. How much time does the DAO need to go through its decision process?

@thekimbingham to give you an overview of the process:

Once you submit your idea, it will go through a 2-week discussion period. This allows community members to provide feedback, ask questions, and suggest improvements.
After the discussion period, the proposal will enter a 2-week voting period where community members can vote on the idea.

So, in total, you should allow for at least one month for the community to go through its decision process.

Please note that from template submission to proposal review, there is additional time required depending on the quality and completeness of your submission.

Hello Geraldine and The Sandbox DAO forum,

The event, Music For Democracy, which is the basis of my SIP, is less than 8 weeks away. Due to the tight timeline to the event for DAO process and subsequent event promotion, I regretfully must withdraw the SIP proposed yesterday for Music For Democracy.

We have other events in the works and look forward to participating with the DAO in the future.
