My thoughts on $SAND pricing

Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about $SAND prices and wanted to share my thoughts.

A lower price for $SAND, the cryptocurrency associated with The Sandbox, could theoretically increase accessibility for gamers in several ways:

  1. Affordability: If the price of $SAND drops, more gamers might find it affordable to purchase enough tokens to engage with the platform’s features, such as buying virtual real estate, creating or buying digital assets, or participating in exclusive events. This aligns with the broader gaming industry’s trend towards making games accessible to a wider audience, as seen in the increasing focus on game accessibility features for gamers with disabilities or those who are less experienced.

  2. Inclusivity: Lower token prices could democratize access to the platform, allowing more individuals to participate in the ecosystem without significant financial barriers. This is in line with the ethos of making gaming inclusive, which has been a growing focus in the industry, as evidenced by various initiatives and guidelines aimed at improving accessibility for gamers with various impairments.

However, there are also considerations that might mitigate the straightforward benefits of a price reduction:

  1. Perceived Value: If $SAND’s price falls significantly, it might affect how users perceive the value of assets within The Sandbox. If the token is seen as less valuable, it could potentially lead to a decrease in engagement or investment in the platform, contrary to the aim of increasing accessibility.

  2. Economic Model: The economic model of The Sandbox relies heavily on the perceived and actual value of $SAND. A sharp decrease in price might disrupt the balance of the in-game economy, affecting creators and investors negatively, which could indirectly impact the platform’s appeal and the quality of content available to new users.

  3. Sustainability: Lower prices might not be sustainable long-term for the platform unless there’s a corresponding increase in user base or other revenue streams. This could potentially lead to reduced support or development for new features or maintenance of existing ones, which might not foster a more inclusive or accessible gaming environment over time.

In conclusion, while a lower price for $SAND could indeed make The Sandbox more accessible to a broader audience by reducing financial entry barriers, the impact on the platform’s ecosystem, the perceived value of digital assets, and long-term sustainability must also be considered. The dynamics of cryptocurrency value, user engagement, and platform development are complex and interconnected.

Not sure where do you see a financial barrier. There is none for gamers. Today you can enter for free in TSB and even start to win sand after 10 min of first steps. And if you put like 10-15$ for AS4 you can win 10x that just playing without premium keys. And you still have a raffle chance to get 1ksand.
If we speak about creators that is different I agree.
A stronger sand bring more traffic, more creators and studios and more investors

Yeah there is no minimum SAND required to engage with the ecosystem, SAND going up is a win for all builders. New players will just buy however much sand they can afford, LAND / ASSETS may be correlated with sand price but they don’t just follow it entirely.

The unfortunate reality is that with lower $SAND prices, there’ll be lesser users and builders. Sounds off because who doesn’t love a good bargain. But its in the nature of humans to chase anything that runs hot a.k.a a winner. We only want price to be low when its high.

Most people don’t desire cheap, they desire value.

Since the price reflects a supply/demand relationship, on our scale, I don’t think we can act directly on it.
The notion of price is the main factor for investors or speculators but not for players.
Access to TSB remains free.
But it is true that it is a subject for reflection.
The important thing is to succeed in creating an offer that outweighs the promise of profit.
In this case, even if there are price fluctuations, the users’ focus is elsewhere.
This creates a positive dynamic.
