Project Overview

This project seeks to onboard and empower a new wave of Ethiopian creators, students, and developers into The Sandbox metaverse through a focused, 2-week virtual bootcamp. Our goal is to provide accessible, beginner-friendly education around Game Maker, VoxEdit, NFTs, LAND ownership, and the broader Sandbox creator economy. Through live workshops, Q&A sessions, and practical assignments, we will train at least 30 participants to actively participate in Sandbox as builders, designers, and digital entrepreneurs.

Hosted by an experienced team of Web3 educators and 3D creators, this program will be conducted via Zoom, Discord, and Twitter Spaces, ensuring inclusive, hybrid access. Top-performing participants will receive Sandbox-branded NFTs and tokens to encourage long-term engagement.

Problem Identification

Ethiopia has a rapidly growing tech-savvy youth population, but there’s currently a major gap in education and onboarding for metaverse platforms like Sandbox. Local students, digital artists, and game enthusiasts lack structured access to learning Sandbox-specific tools such as VoxEdit and Game Maker, preventing them from participating in or earning from one of the fastest-growing digital economies. Without targeted support, The Sandbox risks missing out on a vibrant creative community eager to join but lacking guidance, exposure, and incentives.

Solution Approach

We will host a two-week digital bootcamp to educate and onboard Ethiopian creators into The Sandbox ecosystem. The program will include:

  • 4 live workshops (Zoom + Twitter Spaces)

  • Hands-on sessions with VoxEdit and Game Maker

  • Tutorials on NFT creation, minting, and listing on the Sandbox Marketplace

  • Education on LAND ownership, monetization, and governance

  • Incentives through NFTs, SAND tokens, and certificates

  • A final “Creator Showcase” where participants present their projects

The program will adopt a community-first approach, powered by Discord and Telegram, and will produce reusable learning materials to ensure sustainability.

Impact Measurement (KPIs)

  • 30+ participants onboarded into The Sandbox Discord and platform

  • 4 workshops conducted with 70%+ attendance rate

  • 4+ asset submissions using VoxEdit or Game Maker

  • 2+ NFT uploads to Sandbox Marketplace or demo

  • Post-bootcamp survey with 75%+ satisfaction rate

  • 3 standout projects showcased live
