Progress of validated SIPs / Feedback

A page on the sandboxdao site, “Progress of Validated SIPs/Feedback” is necessary to track the progress of ongoing work.
On this page, authors of accepted SIPs must publish their progress, feedback, etc.

Currently, we’re moving forward blindly; if we want a summary of the situation, we have to find out who wrote the SIP, contact them, etc., which can quickly become burdensome for everyone and not very transparent.

Based on this observation, authors with validated SIPs should provide an update on the current project (with a set deadline for each step) and feedback when the project is completed.

Can you perhaps expand on what you’re thinking here, @sebga?

This sounds like a heavy weekly admin workload just to restate information that already can be found on the forum.

Each SIP must be accountable. Inform the public about its progress, etc.
For example, Ashara, who posted in April about SIP 19, or soon the Arthemort team, who will have to publish information, and more.
If everything were accessible from a single tab on the website (sandboxdao.com), the site would be more lively, not just a DAO brochure. Furthermore, it brings together information about accepted SIPs in one place.

I admit that the forum isn’t really practical for this; it remains scattered, at least that’s how I feel when browsing.

This isn’t meant to be an admin job; the content should be published by the SIP authors.

If there’s an admin for everything, I’m afraid it would become unmanageable or completely shut down.

Any website maintenance (including weekly updates, in this case) would have to be done by the admin team (specifically, @Geraldine). Unless there’s a way to automate it for SIP authors to provide updates.

However, each SIP can be found on the forum by searching for the relevant SIP in the query box. That leads to all of the additional info you’re seeking, including authors (and updates rom them).

It could certainly all be laid out in a better UI on the website, you’re 100% right, but I think (unless I am misunderstanding) all of the info you’re referring to is already available.

It’s a user feeling, to get a simplified understanding of what’s being implemented.
Mixing past/current discussions with things that have been implemented or are in the process of being implemented isn’t user-friendly.
Is there a specific section in the forum for the SIP feedback ?

I think what he’s proposing is that we add a webpage on the website and call it “Progress of Validated SIPs/Feedback” and include implementation updates there. We do have subforum for tracking implementation, but I don’t think it’s enforced for every SIP. SIPs 19 and 26 have been doing it the most  , shoutout to @Arthemort and @Gonzacolo from Wakeup Labs.

Hello, I provide a monthly (albeit I missed it few time) SIP tracker report on “update from the Admin team”

It’s a lot of manual update so we are sticking to Notion at the moment.

Hello Cyril,
My suggestion is to create a page dedicated to the progress of SIPs.
The content of this page should be created and published by the people leading the projects NOT by you, the team.
Some moderation may be necessary, but otherwise, nothing more.
From the moment someone has an accepted SIP:

  • There is enough trust to allow the person to publish articles.
  • The “owner” of the SIP must be accountable, not just through the team, but publicly.

If the forum has a dedicated section, perhaps we could integrate this section into a page on the sandboxdao site. This way, there will be a centralized page (like a blog) for SIP feedback, and we, as users, will still be able to comment and interact with the authors.

I see Lanzer shared the link to the subforum. It’s a great example, because that’s exactly what I’m talking about. The thing is right in front of me, but I can’t seem to find it. My feeling is that you have to be extremely familiar with the forum to navigate easily.
I have nothing to say about the forum itself, but I’d like to find information on the current SIPs without having to finish my doctorate.

Okay, there you go. Maybe you have an easier way to set this up. I trust you.
I don’t want to be too insistent, but I rewrote it in French, in case the idea was poorly expressed in the translation.
Thanks for reading.
