2. Project Overview

:video_game: About the Game:

Quizrift — where your mind is the only weapon.

Quizrift is a visually striking, single-player sci-fi trivia game that challenges your reflexes, logic, and focus under intense pressure. Answer general knowledge questions across 20 cyber-styled levels—each with just 10 seconds on the clock.

Choose wrong, and you’ll fall into the Penalty Rift, where you’ll face a harder math question with a 20-second limit. But you only get two chances in the Rift—fail both, and the game ends instantly.

:brain: Key Features:

  • 20 handcrafted levels with increasing difficulty
  • Only 10 seconds per question in the main arena
  • Penalty Rift system with a second-chance mechanic
  • Fail twice in the Rift and it’s game over
  • Anti-cheat system prevents skipping or exploiting answers
  • Time-based leaderboard ranks players by speed
  • Polished sci-fi visuals with glowing tiles and animated VFX
  • Smooth sound design with ambient loops and reaction cues

Do you have the clarity and speed to outsmart the Quizrift?

Quizrift complete. Your mind endures.

  • All entries must be submitted via Google Form.

:white_check_mark: Only accounts that have completed KYC verification in The Sandbox will be eligible for leaderboard rewards.

:warning: Players found using cheats, exploits, or submitting fake entries will be disqualified or banned without notice.

Engagement-focused side events designed to boost visibility, retain players, and incentivize daily activity throughout the 7-day Quizrift campaign.

    • Grow the community organically

:coin: Reward distribution

  • Leaderboard and micro contest rewards will be sent together after the event ends.
    • Allow 1–2 weeks for final verification and payout processing.
    • Winner names for the Discord raffle and Twitter challenge will be announced daily, but payout will happen at the end of the full event.

Anti-Cheat Protection:

To prevent photo editing or fake entries, each run displays a unique daily game code (a mix of letters and numbers).

The game code changes every 24 hours (Exact time: TBA), and submissions without the correct code for the day will be disqualified.

This ensures that only real and timely runs are accepted.

:white_check_mark: Simple, secure, and fair leaderboard based on fastest verified times.

NOTE:

The event will run for 1 week, with a fresh batch of questions added after the first 3 days to boost replayability.

If we receive strong community response, I plan to request DAO support to extend the event for one additional week with updated content and continued engagement.

:scroll: Disclaimer

By participating, players confirm they are above the legal age required in their country for skill-based, reward-driven activities. Participants are fully responsible for ensuring their eligibility.

This will also be stated in the Google Form.

Do you have previous experience building this type of game?

Yes — I built Number Play, a puzzle-platformer featured in Builder Challenge 3. It received great feedback, and I’m attaching its analytics as proof of engagement.
:link: Experience Page

3. Motivation

Why are you applying for support from The Sandbox?

I’m applying to bring Quizrift to a wider audience through an engaging, time-based event that rewards players and increases platform retention.
DAO support will help scale the project, ensure fair reward distribution, and create a lasting impact within the community.

Why did you choose to build this project in The Sandbox?

The Sandbox is my creative home — I’ve grown here as a voxel artist and game designer since 2022.
This project is designed specifically for the Sandbox ecosystem, using its logic systems, tools, and built-in community potential to the fullest.

4. Timeline

  • Stage 1: Apply for grant
  • Stage 2: Grant approved & Milestone 1 already completed (game ready)
  • Stage 3: Milestone 1 payout received
  • Stage 4: Event launched within 1–2 days of payout
  • Stage 5: After event ends, rewards are distributed and Milestone 2 is marked complete.

5. Team Location

  • India

6. Future Plans & Sustainability

What are your plans for maintaining the project after launch?

Quizrift features 100 total MCQs (80 general knowledge + 20 math-based). To keep the experience fresh, I plan to introduce a new batch of questions. This ensures returning players face new challenges and content.

How do you plan to attract and retain players over time?

As outlined above in the Project Overview, Quizrift is designed for engagement and repeat playthroughs. Beyond Quizrift, I have another game fully built and ready to launch. It’s more immersive, visually refined, and offers higher playtime and retention.

If this grant is approved, I plan to apply for support for that second title as well — which I believe brings even greater value to the Sandbox ecosystem.

7. Milestone Deliverables

:white_check_mark: Milestone 1 – Game Ready & Grant Approval

  • Quizrift game fully developed and tested
  • Experience page published and gameplay recorded
  • Grant application submitted for funding support

Hello guys , feel free to ask any doubts , if you have any. Although everything is available in the proposal. I hope Sandfam will appreciate my efforts and get the grant passed. Thank you @KamiSawZe @Geraldine

Hi Sanctum, almost everything looks good as is, just a couple notes:

My math might be off, but it looks like the leaderboard rewards add up to 4030 not 4000. I just want to make sure we don’t short you on the total needed for the rewards.

I don’t remember if you used decimal places on the clock, but it will help prevent ties if you have a unit smaller than a second, which the stopwatch rule is capable of doing. I’d recommend going with that as it might be a tight race at the top.

I would still recommend what I mentioned in DMs about using math logic on the daily code so you can easily verify the code, but it would be almost impossible for a cheater to guess. But I’m satisfied with the other means you mentioned - let’s not discuss them publicly. Maybe I can run some tests against you to check the security.

When it comes to prize delivery, as I mentioned in DMs I can verify KYC in The Sandbox for participants. You might want to mention that in rules and submission form disclaimer if you’re keeping the KYC aspect. With regards to sending the SAND, I looked up the documentation for the multisend tool I use and it is only for NFTs like Sandbox assets, not for coins like SAND, so I won’t be able to help with distribution. It would be best for you to have a dedicated clean wallet (I can explain how to easily make one in metamask if you need help) to store the prizes separate from other funds.

Overall I think this is a fun project and I hope a lot of people with participate. I think it would be good to think long-term of more ideas as this is a sort of “evergreen” concept. Quizzes will always be fun. Maybe there can be seasonal updates with new questions. Maybe a season pass NFT can help fund a prize pool further down the line? Let’s see how participation goes for this first event, and take the discussion to your own community on Discord to see how they’d like this concept to continue going forwards.

Double check those reward numbers to make sure everything is correct and I’ll ping the admins for approval.

Thank you for reviewing my proposal!

  • I’ve now updated the leaderboard reward distribution to total exactly 4000 SAND.

  • I will clearly mention the KYC requirement in both the submission form and the proposal to ensure eligibility transparency.

  • No issues on the reward distribution — I will personally handle it from a dedicated wallet as discussed.

  • Regarding the timer, I appreciate your suggestion. I will make sure to update it before the event begins to allow for more precise results and avoid ties.

  • As for the anti-cheat system, I’ll proceed with the approach we discussed. I’m confident in its effectiveness — but I truly appreciate your added insights and support.

Everything you suggested has now been addressed. I believe we’re ready to move forward, and I’m truly excited for this event!

Thanks again for your continued support, @KamiSawZe

@admins can we please tag this?

@sanctum your grant of $3700 (USD) is approved! At today’s average of $0.24 (USD) per SAND, this should cover the entire amount requested.

Please complete the DAO KYC process with Blockpass here.

One KYC is complete, let me know when you’re ready for Milestone 1 approval and I’ll give you instructions on invoicing.

Thank you for the opportunity. I am ready for milestone 1

Hello , My KYC is approved , ready for Milestone 1.

Milestone 1 complete! I’ve confirmed gameplay is working as expected and Q&A is accurate per our DM session.

After discussing things in detail with the finance team, we will now pre-allocate USD to SAND at the acceptance of a project if the budget is in SAND. This can be split, so a project could request USD for their working budget and SAND for rewards and we’ll allocate those amounts in those currencies.

So the total requested for milestone #1 of $2500 will pay out as expected, but we will pre-allocate the 5000 SAND so you can invoice for that amount directly when milestone #2 is ready.

This should make things simpler for invoicing and tracking. :tada:

This is approved and has been noted in our tracking docs. Can you make sure the original posts are edited to reflect the total budget? I believe you’ll need to send two invoices, one for USDC, one for SAND, as I don’t think a single invoice can mix currencies.
