Hey @Delegates@Geraldine & Everyone Do you think it’s normal for anyone to submit a SIP? (Not delegates, we agree)
Shouldn’t this be filtered by a minimum level of involvement in our ecosystem? This could be assessed by considering assets owned (from Land to Sand, including assets and avatars), contributions to the ecosystem (engagement/creations/participation)?
Or at least have a guarantor/sponsor system for those who are completely external to TSB?
Hey Lanzer, I just copy and past an answer I gave to Batmann who ask me more or less the same question :
This is mainly something I was thinking about, and I wanted some opinions.
This has already given me a good idea: in the French Discord channel, someone suggested linking a TSB account to the DAO. If the link isn’t established, you can’t submit a SIP. This seems like a solution to me; I’d add that a delay would be even better.
For example, a request can only be made 48 hours or 1 week after the accounts have been synced.
This isn’t meant to complicate the process, but as you say in your message, no one appreciates people coming and going just to scrape together money. It seems important to me that Sandfam (in its broadest sense) be prioritized.
I hope it answer your quzstion.
If not…ask again, in french
joke :)) , just let me know
Linking our TSB account to the forum would be a good thing. It would make it possible to give certain privileges, like being able to post suggestions (or post at all). The only issue is that it requires some collaboration with TSB so they could provide a secure API to access account info. That would take some work on their part and I’m not sure they would agree
Anyway, I’m not entirely sure how Discourse works but there could be two roles for basic users :
Hi @sebga, the DAO allow everyone to submit ideas because the process itself ensures quality and relevance.
Before an idea becomes a SIP, the community has a chance to “vote” and provide feedback. After that, the admin team curates the proposal, conducts a background review, and proceeds with KYC once it’s accepted.
It’s also intersting to note that certain proposals such as web3 ecosystem integrations or charitable initiatives are likely to interest/resonate with stakeholders beyond The Sandbox ecosystem.
Hey @Geraldine
I completely understand. While I don’t doubt the process itself and believe in opening up to new opportunities, I believe it would bring greater cohesion to the DAO and the community in general.
We’re not closed-minded, but we’re not a mill either. (not sure it’s correct in english but you understand the french meaning of “rentrer comme dans un moulin”)
That’s just my feeling; I have the impression it’s a bit mixed.
I don’t know; the discussion is here to tell us.
