Thank you for your submission, I’ll do my best to have a reply for you tomorrow.

Thank you for your very detailed submission @fredandferd.

Of course I remember use doing a fashion show with you on stream, and I think making an experience that crystalizes this is a great idea. I know kids play fashion experiences in Roblox where they can vote, so it would be good to see this experience as a place where people can show off their avatars and equipment just for fun even when there are not official events going on.

One big question, which I might have missed the answer to reading over your presentation: for official events, do you plan on updating the game to add the equipment for models to pick up, or are creators expected to mint the equipment before the event so models can grab it from their own inventory?

While I’m sure you have your own mechanics in mind, I would recommend having some “admin” controls locked behind an NFT sensor that only you and trusted staff have. Then having a control panel where you can clear all players from the catwalk area, lock/unlock doors or teleporters, and maybe have a directional teleport tag (not 100% sure this is possible, never tried, but I think it could work, activate an admin keyboard number control where the player you’re pointing at is given a tag which allows them to access areas as a temporary permission - whichever players you select will then be able to get access to the changing room/catwalk/etc. You could probably use this to define certain players as official judges too). All this to ensure the smooth running of your event as random viewers may try to disrupt the event. You could also use these admin powers to change music/lights/effects, and really run a professional looking show.

I think your idea sounds like it could be a lot of fun, and get a lot of artists involved. Potentially some brands may be interested in collaborating if this is successful.

One more thing I’d highly recommend, having a selection of free, earnable, and premium equipment for players who are not part of the events. Free meaning, simple equipment they can just pick up and use, premium being marketplace NFTs that are actually listed for sale, and earnable meaning items that you can get with in-game points, maybe earned from the obby races and participating in voting. With 0.12 we’re adding saving, which will allow you to have players return to a game with inventory items (they don’t have to repeatedly unlock equipment) and variables (if they’ve collected points, they can keep their balance and earn more to unlock more “expensive” equipment).

There are a few things missing before I give an approval:

  • There’s no visual style or metrics/KPIs in the presentation, just blank slides. I don’t necessarily need those, I’m just curious what would have been there.
  • 6 weeks brings up right up to the end of August. You’re confident you can build this in the given time frame?
  • I need to see how the budget is distributed on the milestones. This is a significant budget for it only being one experience, though I believe this project could be successful, and if it’s able to reach outside the usual Sandfam crowd, could be a good way to onboard new players.

Hi @KamiSawZe

Thanks for the feedback and support.
@fredandferd is on family vacation this week, so Im gonna try to respond any questions this week and any other week if this project goes ahead.

I wanted to let you know that we’ve gone ahead and updated the proposal and GDD this weekend to reflect your suggestions y complete some slides that I have left.

Here’s a quick overview of the changes:

  • Equipables System: Creators will mint at least two copies of each wearable (with the cheapest CAT) one for themselves or their model, and one for us to use in an in-game showcase gallery. This would give us easy and quick accessibility for the models or creators as well as for us. Slide #19 in the updated GDD.

  • Admin Tools: Fred already had something in mind to have “staff” controls and logic to manage player access, backstage areas, voting systems, pop-ups, banners, atmospheric lights, etc. during events. This is not as detailed at this point, but I had previously created a Staff/Event Host role (Slide #16) that would do basically what you mentioned, either Fred, myself, or someone trusted who knows the controls. (If necessary, this could be detailed beforehand or we could have a documentation of what things were done.)

  • Reward System (Free, Earnable, Premium):

    • Free rewards = temporary wearable items usable inside the map (e.g., giant foam fingers, hats).
    • Earnable = community NFTs given via raffles or participation contests.
    • Premium = Voxel Artists’ NFTs linked to the Marketplace via interactive in-game galleries.
    • More details on Slides #11–12.
  • Budget Breakdown by Milestone: We’ve included a distribution table showing how the full $16K budget is allocated across development and event coordination. Slide #37.

  • Visual style: We have developed a visual concept that mixes a clean, high-fashion base environment (crystals, reflective materials) with thematic overlays for each new event (e.g., fire theme, water event). The resources and visual effects will change to reflect each theme, while retaining the main aesthetic. See slides 22-29.

  • Key Performance Indicators: We now track metrics in three categories:

    • Experience KPI: Total game time, unique players, page traffic, etc.
    • Event KPIs: Artist participation (OGs and News), total votes, viewers.
    • Economy KPI: NFT sales related to featured items.
      See slides 30-32.
(Although we have already outlined the key areas we want to measure, we currently do not yet have precise metric targets defined. We plan to first analyze our past performance from past events and experiences to establish a realistic baseline. From that retrospective assessment, we will define clear and measurable objectives that fit the scope of this new project. However, it is important to note that, with the support of this grant, our goal is not simply to replicate past results, but to achieve greater impact, both in player and artist participation).
  • Schedule: We’re confident in completing the full production (experience + event organization (themes, dates, registrations, etc.)) within 6 weeks of project approval. It should be pointed that we plan to run approximately 6 large Fashion Show events in the 6 months following the end of these 6 weeks with the Participant Rewards Budget.

Feel free to go back and check the updated GDD, they are just basically new slides, the old ones are still the way they were, but the new ones are the ones that are mentioned in this message.

I would like to know your opinion or feedback and if you have any questions, let me know.

Hi @rocksymiguel, thank you for the details.

Projects in this domain are recommended to be capped at $10,000. However, I do weigh the scope of the project into this. In the case of Funguy Season 2, it’s not a single game in development, but six games, plus a season event with player rewards, and a template being provided to the community to build their own games.

I believe your project holds a similar merit, being the type of game that could be highly repayable for equipment collectors, even just using the stage for selfies if nobody else is online to role-play a runway show competition. As well as the six fashion shows outlined.
For that, I’m going to approve this project. Either you or @fredandferd will need to complete the DAO KYC (whomever will be submitting and receiving the invoices).

It would be awesome to see if you can acquire sponsors who could place some tasteful advertisements in the space, promote on their socials, boost the reward pool, and contribute assets (or at least catalysts) to mint attendee rewards. I can see about talking to the official partners team to see if any of the fashion brands are interested, and there’s always the Web3 brands to reach out to. Let’s see about having some official screenshots or a demo video to share first though.

I also have some ideas on how you could include attendees who can’t get in the same instance since we still have that 20 player cap. I think there are some easy ways you could get the public vote and distribute event rewards. Let’s chat about them soon.

@Geraldine could you please mark this one approved? :folded_hands:

Hi @KamiSawZe and everyone,

Thank you so much for the approval and for all the valuable feedback throughout this process.

We are very excited to move forward with this project, both with the experience itself and with the upcoming fashion events. We believe this concept has great potential, not only to showcase the work of talented voxel artists, but also to engage players in a replayable social event space within the Sandbox.

We will keep you posted on milestones as we move forward.

Things are looking excellent and you have an impressive amount of documentation going! You might consider compiling this into a behind the scenes artbook or something when this is all done.

Marking M2 and M3 ready for payout.

One recommendation, you might want to consider different colors for the icons so that they are still easy to see at a distance, especially for players with a lower resolution. Not a requirement, just an accessibility suggestion.

Hi, @KamiSawZe and @Geraldine .

Milestone 4 and 5 documentation are ready for review.

Milestone 6 Doc will be ready before this Friday.

Hi @KamiSawZe @Geraldine

The final milestone (M6) has been completed and is now updated in the same doc link we have been using. Everything is ready for your review.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks this The Sandbox DAO Grant Program for their trust and support throughout this project. Their grant made it possible to bring the Sandbox Fashion Show from concept to a fully launched experience, now ready to host its first event (October 3rd).

At this stage, with the experience complete and the event series officially launched, we would also like to formally request the Artist Reward Pool budget ($4,000). This allocation is essential to reward participating voxel artists, incentivize new talent, and foster community engagement in the upcoming shows.

Thanks again for the support.
