SIP-16: Insert in-game Inventory Filter for Equipment

Hahahahahahahahahha. Oh my gosh I saw the replying to ā€œLā€ and completely went down the wrong track. Sorry Kurchato @KCL !

Embarrassing on my part

Yeah agree with this idea. I as a player have a hard time finding or choosing equipment. Canā€™t imagine how hard it would be if a player has hundreds of equipment.

Well done Lanzer, I love this SIP. Itā€™s an improvement Iā€™ve personally been waiting for.

I wonder if we could add a filter to sort equipment by the highest (or any desired) attribute value for a specific category.

For example, if I want to find the equipment with the highest speed roll, it would be great to have the option to filter and sort all speed related assets from highest to lowest. (Apologies if this functionality is already included)

Cheers,
DrM

Hey DrM! Yes, I did end up adding this per some early comments. Just gotta make sure it gets into the final proposal version. Thanks for adding your voice to this, Iā€™m happy to hear youā€™ve been waiting for this too! :slightly_smiling_face:

@Geraldine

Please replace the

The filter would be able to hide or show catalysts (Legendary, Epic, Rare), attributes (Power, Defense, Speed, Magic, Luck), and slots (Head, Chest, Arms, Right Hand, Left Hand, Legs).

paragraph with

The filter would be able to hide or show catalysts (Legendary, Epic, Rare), attributes (Power, Defense, Speed, Magic, Luck), and slots (Head, Chest, Arms, Right Hand, Left Hand, Legs). The filter also has a ā€œsort by highestā€ and ā€œsort by lowestā€ checkboxes that sorts the shown inventory by their numerical catalyst value.

Merci beaucoup! :slightly_smiling_face:

Done. Do you have anything to update before I put it for voting?

That should be everything. Iā€™m ready!

Sounds good, this SIP will be SIP-16 as itā€™s ready.

If possible, I would like to see a ā€œFavoriteā€ option (like most of you mentioned above, maybe a gear set or a star that we can activateā€¦) and ā€œLocal filterā€ ( the asset/equipment made by the game creator appear first by default, could be usefull if a nft is needed for a particular game).

Iā€™ll support this SIP

Oh darnet I saw SIP-17 and created my short video on it alreadyā€¦is it possible to do it as SIP-17?

Yes, great, thatā€™s what we need! Iā€™ve been needing a filter like this for a long time. When there are a lot of items, itā€™s very tedious to search for the ones needed for each body part, because the items are scattered around the inventory. This will definitely be a useful feature for players.

Thanks for your support, Kaiten! I think your avatar is really cool by the way. Electrified ā€œKā€

Totally agree, we need this! :slightly_smiling_face:

Must have feature! I am always puzzled when I want to make some fun set - whether it is headgear or hand gear or anything else  I hope my delegate will vote 100% YES

Itā€™s not even necessary to submit it to the DAO. It should be put directly on the work list.

Just a quick point of clarity:

This is indeed an idea that would go through the DAO as a SIP.

Ideas on how to improve the game make excellent SIPs.

The DAO Admin Team cannot just put game dev updates or feature launches on the TSB development work list with a SIP accompanying it. Even then, we may have to deal with pushback or timeline/resource management concerns from the TSB dev team.

The kinds of ideas or concerns that the DAO can address directly (without any need for SIP) are matters of DAO operations or ways we can improve the efficiency of the AO itself.

I have a quick question: If thereā€™s already an idea or feature on the dev teamā€™s to-do list that needs improvement, how would an SIP really help move things forward?
I thought SIPs were meant to help prioritize or refine features based on what the community needs, but if itā€™s already in progress, wouldnā€™t submitting an SIP just be a bit redundant?

This is a GREAT question!

I was just on a call with @cryptodiplo on which we discussed the same thing.

The TSB Dev team is currently finalizing their goals for 2025, and I will do my part to make sure our DAO community (especially our delegates) has access to that priority list so we can push through game improvements most effectively (with as little resistance internally as possible).

I donā€™t think such interface updates, filters, etc. should be presented as a suggestion. Isnā€™t that what the TSB UI/UX team is for? These are improvements that should already be in the standard. Speaking specifically about this suggestion, I guess no one in the UI/UX team plays FRP or RPGs  I can make 100 more suggestions like this. (on GC - GM or Voxedit)

In every update, one side of the interface changes. I think the effort spent on changing the interface design should be spent on such improvements.

Instead of presenting these suggestions as separate SIPs, letā€™s write the improvements in a field and present them collectively in a single SIP. (If it has to be presented with SIP. But as I said, I think these are things that should already be there)

my suggestions:

  • currently we have a category for armor and weapons and it should be for specific parts, i.e. arms, chest, legsā€¦
  • there should be an option to save sets (one default + 5 optional ones where players create these sets themselves from different nfts), you can also create collections of sets, e.g. a ā€œbrowserā€ that allows you to load a ready set with the creatorā€™s data if you have the whole set in your inventory.

I recommend seeing how well they did it in World of Warcraft

yes I repeat that for a long time, also (if correctly remember up to version 0.0.8) after selecting another equipment it was showing will the stats increase or decrease compering to current one.
As we wish improvements it should on top of the proposal have favorite set, best 2+ sets, there can program in own profile and after login to the game ware whole set with one click.
