SIP-26: NFT Collection Management for The Sandbox DAO

My concern was always the reinvestment of funds back into art. It seems like you haven’t executed that vision yet, so I have been very happy with performance so far.

Unfortunately if we take all the proceeds and put them into Art, that will mean we lost all the proceeds we gained and will be in an even worse position than we were before, so that’ continues to be my concern.

Well I wanted to do this with Biome lumina but it minted out during the treasurer Lunch break. Wouldn’t have been a bad bet. Mint was 1eth and its sitting at like 4 theses days.

Hi @everyone,

We will be sharing our 2nd quarter report within the next few days.

It has been a tough quarter for the market across all asset classes; nonetheless, we managed to secure strong sales and achieve our objectives despite unforeseen challenges.

We know that acquisitions can be a topic of debate within the community. So far, we have been very conservative and haven’t made any major purchases, aside from smaller buys to farm OpenSea Voyages.

In our report, we will propose a new system that will allow you (the community) to vote on commissioning custom work from emerging artists we have carefully selected.

We still intend to acquire blue-chip artworks and historic NFTs from world-class artists and projects such as Larva Labs, Deekay, Rare Pepes, OM, 6529, Tyler Hobbs, Refik Anadol, Beeple, Joe Pease, Grant Yun, and more. We will be sure to communicate in advance before making such acquisitions to gauge community sentiment.

Our curatorial pillars remain clear: architecture, voxels, and gamification.

@Arthemort
In the X Space, you mentioned using a platform that gave a lot of transparency for sale activity, what was that platform name?

Great update, thanks team!

For SIP-37 purpose, we’re searching for 2 Web3 project who would like to partner in the activation.

I’ll send you a private message. You have an awesome understanding of NFT market, so it would be great to exchange on that!

Hello Everyone,

As you may have seen from this announcement, SIP-26 has been cancelled following the DAO’s transition into dormant mode.

We received our one-month notice on January 7th. Since then, we have been unable to execute any sales transactions. As mentioned in our previous report, the prolonged vacancy of the Treasurer position had already significantly limited our operational capacity, which explains why listing orders were fulfilled at a much slower pace than usual.

Naturally, we are disappointed not to be able to to finish operation in the best manners and fully complete the vision we had for the collection. There were still many initiatives left to implement. That said, we are proud to report that despite effectively losing an entire quarter, we reached the SIP’s primary objective ahead of schedule, generating $400,000 in revenue for the DAO.

Unfortunately, the contract’s prorated compensation is based on time rather than objective completion. As a result, our team will receive 75% of the funds originally allocated to this SIP.

In the coming days, we will publish what was initially planned as our Q3 report, which will now serve as a final report, detailing all actions undertaken and results achieved during our management of the DAO collection.

Following the termination of my contract, I will personally continue to tend to the collection with the support of the Arasakio team. This includes, in particular, claiming the long-awaited OpenSea token airdrop (an event that is likely to push total revenues well beyond the original objective) as well as overseeing the commission project that was approved in December.

Stay tuned for the publication of the report by EOW, It was truly an honor to have been able to steward this project. Hopefully In the future I’ll be able to take care of this collection again.

Best,
Brian Beccafico

Congratulations to you and your team on that, Arthemort. It has been wonderful seeing you curate the collection and implement this SIP.

I’d say just hold on until the vote commences. The announcement is that we have a SIP forthcoming, I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion that a pause is certain.

Hello Lanzer thanks for the kind word.

Idk about that if so we’ll likely have to submit a new SIP then.

The SIP has been cancelled already. We’ll be out on February 7th as per our one month notice

If the DAO votes No on pausing the DAO then I think it should invalidate the cancel notice. We’ll see how it goes though
