Is the DAO vote the only vote to determine the winners of these builder challenges and if so can creators vote for their own projects and if so wouldn’t that potentially be an unfair advantage depending on how many creators were involved in a project and what the WEIGHT of their votes may be based on their Land and Sand ownership?

Interesting, curious too about that.

Hello @DaruthTheHuman, thank you for raising this important question.

To clarify, the DAO vote is indeed the primary method for determining the winners of this Paris City Game Jam. Creators are allowed to vote for their own projects. However, it’s important to note that a total of 30 million Voting Power needs to be reached for the vote to be considered valid. It helps mitigate by ensuring that a significant and diverse portion of the DAO Community participates in the voting process, thereby balancing influences.

  • Pros:
    • Novel idea to allow votes for Game/City Jams on chain
    • Budget request is 0.1% of 2.5M for Game Content category
  • Cons:
    • Unknown impact. The SIP doesn’t communicate the expected impact from increased traffic or SandFam visibility?
  • Interesting:
    • The Medium article on 7-Jun-24 (1.5 wks after 28-May Sandbox DAO announcement) projected a timetable where DAO vote occurs 10-Jul (1 month later)
  • Question:
    • What does a “Neutral” Council Recommendation mean?
    • What does “Nb of experiences” mean under “Monitored Metrics”?
    • Who is the author of this SIP?

Game Jam has only reached half of its quorum, thus the SIP is considered as rejected.
It will keep you posted about next steps!

Look forward to a resubmission on this one.
Would like to assist raising quorum moving forward.
