THREE Updates Regarding DELEGATION

  1. This will be made clearer in future comms, but ANYONE can serve as a delegate on Snapshot. So, if you wish to form a delegation of your community and assign a primary delegate to vote, you can follow the same method outlined in this video on YouTube.

  1. One of our 12 vetted delegates (Rocksy) has had to step down. The Admin Team is interviewing the candidates who had previously applied and still had interest. A replacement is expected by early next week, just in time for SIP-28 to go to vote. This new delegate will receive the 2M VP from TSB that Rocksy was voting with.

  1. An internal scoring system has been put in place for the rebalancing of VP among the 12 delegates voting with TSB allocated VP. Every two months (starting May 1), shifts of 200k VP will occur. Next redistribution will be July 1st.

For every SIP, delegates can earn up to 3 points:

  • did they vote?
  • did they vote in the first 72 hours?
  • did they leave a Snapshot comment w reason for their vote?

All the possible points for each 2-month cycle are added up. Any delegate with 30% or less of the points loses 200k VP. Any delegate with 80% or more of the points has their VP spread evenly among them.

So, you can expect to see shifts in the voting power of these delegates in the days (and months) ahead.

Note: this scoring system is not the same as the rankings used on Delegation

Further, we do acknowledge that this will, over the next year to two, further centralize VP with the delegates who are most active. To account for this, we will begin encouraging more community delegations (as noted in bullet 1 above) and may interview more delegate candidates later this year to further split the VP of the 12.

@rocksymiguel It was an absolute pleasure getting to know you. I hope everything is okay and thank you so much for all the DAOing you did getting new SandFam familiar with the DAO.
