Projects such as SandRush, Magic Palette, and Magic Block are not just experimental tools — they provide tangible, ecosystem-wide benefits to creators, studios, and LAND holders across The Sandbox.
These tools, particularly those focused on automated or procedural content generation, have the potential to significantly accelerate development speed and populate currently empty LANDs with a wide variety of themed experiences. They lower the barrier for entry, empower creators with limited resources, and help maintain a vibrant ecosystem filled with fresh, engaging content.
In particular, Magic Palette, with its ability to generate diverse combinations of experience templates, could become the foundational layer for massive LAND activation. I believe it can serve as the engine behind a new wave of scalable UGC (user-generated content) in The Sandbox.
From my perspective, among all the SIPs submitted so far, projects like these stand out as the most meaningful and impactful for the long-term growth of the platform. Therefore, I strongly propose the DAO consider:
Creating a dedicated support track or grant program for procedural generation tools;
Offering priority funding or fast-track evaluation for projects that help auto-generate experiences at scale;
Strategically aligning DAO resources with tools that directly lead to ecosystem expansion through LAND utility.
The more we support these infrastructure-level tools, the faster we can unlock the true potential of The Sandbox.
I strongly agree with the points raised about the transformative potential of tools like SandRush, Magic Palette, and Magic Block for The Sandbox.
However, to fully unlock The Sandbox’s potential, I believe we must complement these creator-focused tools with a strong emphasis on player accessibility, especially on mobile devices.
By supporting infrastructure-level tools as proposed, while also prioritizing mobile accessibility, we can create a virtuous cycle: creators use tools like Magic Palette to populate LANDs with engaging content, and players access this content effortlessly on mobile devices, driving adoption and engagement.
Hey,
Yes, they’re great tools.
But before going any further, it would be good to see some developments on MagicPalette.
Maybe there have been some in the backend, but there hasn’t been anything new on the user side. (edit : sorry i forgot the GM link option, but still 1 feature)
It’s a shame, because the DAO has contributed a large amount to this project.
By the way, I’m asking: is there something new planed with MagicPalette @Pepe ?
Wow. I just saw this! Thank you so much for starting this conversation @shont and for all the incredibly kind words and support. It means the world to us to see so much belief in what we’re trying to build for The Sandbox creator community.
You did summarize VERY well what our mission is with what we develop. It always was, and while it’s not an easy task, we still grind daily on this vision.
@sebga Very fair questions about the lack of updates on Magic Palette. The truth is, we’ve had our heads down, working hard on a major evolution of the tool based on the potential we all see. I’l get back to this in a sec. We also improved the performance, the interoperability for builders to use their voxel/block-based maps on other platforms, and we worked directly with TSB Level Design team on Official TSB Block sets and many other things. Plus, we truly wanted to develop Magic Block as we need it as “puzzle piece” to unlock Magic Palette’s true power, hehe
@hishmad As you might have seen, we have our new web/mobile app Magic Block live for a few days and people can now generate their own custom blocks in seconds with pixel-perfect textures. With this approach we incentivise even non-builders and players to get hooked to create UGC for the platform. So while we can’t offer a mobile GM or Game Client this is how we bring TSB-tailored creator tools to the fingertips and all mobile devices. We also strongly believe this is crucial for further adoption and better access to TSB UGC.
Now about Magic Palette: Over the past weeks we’ve been developing a Proof of Concept to take Magic Palette to the next level, evolving it from a converter and level design accelerator tool into a full procedural game generation platform for TSB XPs. We’re calling it Magic Realms.
I’ll be posting much more about this in the coming days right here in the forums. Our goal is to open up a fruitful discussion with all of you to get your feedback and ideas. We want to understand what the community truly needs and how we, as a third-party development team can best help empower every creator and LAND owner with our solution.
We’re super pumped about this direction. I was able to introduce this PoC to Seb and Arthur a few weeks ago in Lisbon and we have been fortunate to receive great support not only from them but from the TSB Content team as well. However, to make Magic Realms a reality, we will need to seek funding through the DAO. Our vision is for this to be a truly community-driven development effort, where we can collectively build the future of UGC tools for The Sandbox.
Thanks again for believing in us. Let’s build this together!
