Overview
Weeks 5 and 6 marks a significant milestone in our mission to onboard African university students into Web3.
Our activities this period focused on the official commencement of the workshop series, increased student engagement, platform updates, and targeted outreach to improve turnout for upcoming sessions.
Key Highlights
1. Workshop Launch at University of Lagos
• Date: Monday, August 11, 2025
• Time: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (delayed start due to minor technical issues)
• Attendance: Over 30 students in-person.
Activities:
• Speakers presented their respective modules covering blockchain fundamentals, Web3 ecosystem, smart contracts, and The Sandbox ecosystem.
• Interactive Q&A sessions allowed students to engage directly with facilitators.
2. Platform & Community Development
• Website Update: Our official website 
https://thecryptoelites.com is fully updated and functioning optimally.
• Telegram Group Creation: Dedicated group launched for grant program registrations sitting currently at 40 members.

• Onboarding Success: Over 20 students have successfully joined The Sandbox ecosystem.
3. Incentives & DAO Engagement
• Each registered participant who submitted their details received at least 1 $SAND token airdropped to their EVM wallet.
• Students were encouraged to register on The Sandbox Forum to participate in DAO decision-making.
4. Outreach & Publicity
• While turnout was lower than anticipated despite paid publicity campaigns, immediate steps were taken:
• Additional flyers printed and distributed on campus.
• Plans for more aggressive outreach ahead of the next workshop to boost attendance.
Next Steps:
• Intensify campus engagement through targeted student clubs and associations.
• Leverage social media storytelling from first workshop participants to drive interest.
• Prepare logistics and technical support for the next workshop to ensure an on-time start.
