To better explain why building cross-project partnerships and experiences is so important to us (and why weāve designed this proposal for The Sandbox DAO), I just published a short thread outlining the vision.

It was great to hear directly from everyone.
Okay, so what Cyril said connects the dots now. Cyril mentioned that the staking rewards on 100K $APE would yield a pretty big benefit with the Ape NFTs that are coming to the TSB DAO.
Those 30 Bored Apes + 21 Mutant Apes act as a multiplier on the 100K APE that would be staked.
I tried calculating what it would be but ApeCoin UI - Staking Data & Calculator isnāt working for me. If anyone can do this please post the screenshot

The admin team is too stay neutral in the voting process. However there is, I believe, an interesting piece of information that I revealed during the space: The DAO admin team has been working hard with The Sandbox behind the scene, to get the Sandbox NFT collection transferred to the DAO so it can be actively managed.
As part of this collection we have:
Which in turn unlock some serious staking reward for the DAO. A quick āback of the enveloppeā calculation gives us a compounded interest of 45k ApeCoin per year.
Which will make this SIP the first one to bring the DAO some actual money.
I admit that it allowed me to have another look, another understanding.
Even if I still think that the DAO APE should also get involved in our ecosystem to build a real relationship, I will perhaps reconsider my vote.
I feel like a weather vane but I prefer to question myself.
I feel like this should have been in the TLDR from the beginning.
All the other things about cross-DAO collaboration didnāt make sense to me because of how much cross-DAOāing weāre already doing with ApeCoin and Moca.
I had forgotten about the BAYC/MAYC collection until Cyril mentioned it. Now it all fits together.
@CedricL & @zeromiedocrypto , I recall an earlier reply that this wasnāt the original intent of the SIP, were you aware of the BAYC/MAYC collection coming to the TSB DAO?
I thought APE nfts gave VP power, but it seems not. One other hand itās interesting to get %.
if we buy APE coins it still remains a unilateral āpartnershipā, nothing prevents the APE DAO from dumping their own token. My problem is there, there is no safeguard.
Thatās very true, but itās clear from their AIP-582 REVAMP that ApeChain is here to stay. They have upwards of $100M to figure it out. To me, itās a low-risk investment with predictable ROI.
I could not share beforehand as nothing worked and it took a long time to have the collection:

No, but it does help us become self-sufficient. One of my SIPs that is almost through DAO Admin review is cultivating a portfolio of Revenue Options. Right now weāre 100% reliant on TSBās annual gift. The lesson learned from ApeCoin DAO going from $1.3B treasury to less than $100M in 2 years is to ensure youāre receiving more than youāre spending.
I see this as a jumpstart to do that.

My feeling here after listening to the Space, I have the impression that this story of staking those APEcoin is coming a little bit out of the blue trying to convince to change the voting.
Even with the excuse that the transfer of NFTs from TSB to the DAO took some months this idea of buying APEcoin is in the books of the admin team since July 2024 (check news of operations screenshots). Therefore I can turn this in my head as I want, I cannot understand why professionnals of token economics did not include this into their SWOT analysis as an opportunity in the TLDR.
My opinion has not changed on this SIP, I do not want step 2 and 3 and like you said Lanzer I do not think we need this to have collaborations between DAOs.
Coming back to a ārevenues creation SIPsā if the goal of acquiring APEcoin would be specifically for that I would actually explain clearly the structure of APE staking pools and calculation of potential return of investment scenarios. In that context like was said in the Space it will actually make more sense to buy more than 100 k APEcoin based on the numbers of BAYC and MAYC that the DAO will own.

Iām still not convinced that there are real tangible benefits to the TSB DAO. I think the community and their cross-DAO collaboration should come naturally with mutual benefits.
For example, what and how many assets (lands and SAND) does the APE DAO own?
Pumping our resources into another DAO for a potential ROI thatās dependent on the volatility of the space and market isnāt really appealing to me. And as KCL mentioned, it seemed like an afterthought when it should have definitely been the main focus of this SIP!
We havenāt even bought a single land for our DAO, which we were supposed to as part of the buyback initiative. So I think we should build the foundation of our DAO before branching out!
More or less sharing the same feeling, but not so much now.
What was talked about was what would benefit this full collaboration between DAOs, maybe when it is a full collaboration, or when some āstepsā are already ahead.
What is worth saying is that in the Space we talked about a lot of benefits, profits, etc. that in my opinion are amazing, and that they are likely to gain community acceptance of this collaboration, but does not correspond to what is written in this proposal.
Maybe it is what I mentioned in the Space, the complete Cross-DAO Collaboration between Sandbox X APE (Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, ā¦) achieve or aspire to all those things that were talked about, all those benefits between both platforms and communities, wich imo are awesome, but we must not forget that we are voting for āPhase 1ā and for everything that is written above in the proposal .
I know that maybe it is not the case, the authors seem to be reliable people who are already working in the web3 environment, even more within Animoca, but we cannot expect that something that was just mentioned in a Space and that does not correspond to what was proposed in the TLDR will be fulfilled on next Phases or in the future.
Maybe it should, but is not.

Proposal ini memperkenalkan sebuah inisiatif dari The Sandbox DAO, yaitu Kerangka Kerja Kolaborasi Lintas-DAO yang bertujuan untuk membangun kemitraan dan tata kelola bersama. ApeCoin DAO dipilih sebagai proyek percontohan. Langkah awalnya adalah membeli 100.000 ApeCoin dengan menggunakan maksimal 312.500 SAND. Dengan ini, The Sandbox DAO bisa ikut serta dalam tata kelola ApeCoin DAO dan sekaligus mendorong kolaborasi antar komunitas untuk mewujudkan visi metaverse terdesentralisasi yang digunakan oleh banyak orang.

Hello @KCL allow me to jump in and bring some clarity:
The (original) idea of portfolio diversification came from protecting our treasury against volatility. But we realised than it was not appropriate to diversify the main DAO books without doing a SIP. So we focused on diversifying the OPERATION budget only as all of the bills we receive are in either in FIAT or stable coins. That is why, from an admin team project it became a SIP. We submitted the idea to Animoca that was glad to draft a SIP, and submit to the community. The curation took a really long time (months indeed, with different authors coming and going for diverse reasons) and the original idea was about buying millions of APE. Thanks to the effort of the PM team and a great collaboration with Animoca, we reduced it to something more ādigestibleā, especially for a first SIP.
Now on to the NFT collection: A parallel project to bring TSB NFT collection was already in the works. This was confidential informations and was not shared with the Animoca team. It was irrelevant as we had little confidence about the transfer actually happening. We have made great progress last week, and managed to unlock the situation, which is why we shared the good news, especially because there was a connection to this SIP. We are staying neutral, but also want to make sure that all the relevant information is shared for the community to vote in good conscience.
Believe me, I would have rather have completed this piece of work sooner! Remember the SIP-9: Mandate for NFT collection management? That was back in July last year, and that is when we started to work on the idea of transferring the collection. That is how long it took, and getting the motion passed at Sandbox board was no small feat: itās an expensive collection
