SIP-32: DAO Educational Experience in the Sandbox - RFP Selection

TL;DR

What This SIP proposes a community vote to select 1 of the 7 submissions for the RFP: “Create an Educational Experience in The Sandbox About the DAO Governance Process.”. The winning proposal, determined by the highest total voting power, will receive funding to develop their educational experience.
Why Understanding how to participate in The Sandbox DAO governance is critical to decentralized participation. However, the process remains opaque or intimidating for many community members. While documentation exists, it lacks an engaging, immersive format accessible to the wider Sandbox community.
How The SIP outlines a summary of each proposal (concept, budget, timeline, team) and includes a side-by-side comparison table. Community members may cast their vote for a single proposal or distribute their VP across multiple options.
When Voting will determine the winner, who can begin development in alignment with their proposed timeline, starting when Game Maker 0.12 becomes available.

Voting Options

The winning team will receive funding and begin work under the agreed timeline.

What specific criteria will be used to judge the proposals beyond “highest total voting power”? For example, how will factors like educational impact, scalability, or community engagement be weighed?

Wassup everybody. I just had to put in a proposal.

@dankoyy and Crawler Design and I teamed up on this one. It made perfect sense to take all the DAO educational infographics I’ve built over the last 60 SANDDAO podcast episodes and bring them to life in a multiplayer, hands-on minigame learning session.

DA’s may submit SIPs, yes.

Since they do not cast delegated votes on SIPs, there is no conflict of interest.

DAO Headquarters: Power Within. is designed as a gentle introduction to the world of DAOs, but rather than revealing specific metrics, I’d like to teach through active participation and collaboration. Players learn by doing: helping departments, making decisions, and contributing to a shared space. Along the way, they naturally develop pro-social skills like communication, teamwork, and responsible decision-making, skills that extend far beyond the game and into real-world impact.

Here’s a preview of what that looks like, with respect to individual personalities or Roles players can explore within the experience.

Interested about the storytelling proposals: canthe avatar circulate freely in those experiences or will it be gated be the sorytelling?

I don’t think there’s a need for that.

I think Dao should be a more competitive experience that people can play over and over again instead of having a game that will only be played once or never.

People who want to learn something about DAO can access youtube or other sources. This project will just be a waste of resources, time and effort.

I’m one of the creators behind The SandDAO Factory Proposal (Impossible Dream Studio X Game Monkey), I worked as the game designer alongside @iamnegool, who’s behind all the voxel art.

Just wanted to say how excited we are to see our proposal included. It took a lot of effort (and heart) to shape this into something both fun and meaningful. We based most of the game and minigames included around the SIP Training 1.0 Workshop, trying to make each part of the DAO process engaging through interactive departments and role-based gameplay.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve made strong progress in several key areas:

:video_game: Racing mechanics redesigned — boosts now rely on precise timing, not spamming
:cityscape: Cyberpunk district layout finalized — awaiting build-out in Game Maker
