# SIP-34: BollyBox Launch Campaign: Bringing Bollywood to The Sandbox

TL;DR

What BollyBox, the Sandbox’s first Bollywood-themed IP LAND sale, featuring real-world events and an AI short film premiere. Three unique events: 1. Why No one has ever launched a Bollywood IP land sale in the metaverse. That’s why we’re anchoring the campaign across two high-traction locations: Bangalore during IBW to activate the Web3 ecosystem, and Mumbai to engage Bollywood’s biggest names through an exclusive IP showcase. This is a cinematic debut for digital LAND and for The Sandbox to claim the pole position for India’s entertainment economy.
How IRL activations, short film screenings, creator content, live demos, influencer engagement, and a dedicated booth at IBW. All leading into the BollyBox land sale reveal.
When In December 2025 : IBW Booth & Side event in Bangalore + Meet and Greet with Bollywood IPs with Short film screening in Mumbai. (Exact date to be locked once the IBW master schedule is out. We’re targeting IBW opening weekend for maximum buzz.)

Event 1: Indian Blockchain Week Booth + IP Showcase

  • Booth presence featuring Bollywood XPs (3 exists so far and we will have 2 more to launch during the December week)

Seems pretty straightforward. So there’s a conference called IBW, a side event, and a land sale.

Only have a couple questions.

  1. What was the thought behind unlocking payments before the conference event? MS #2 only requires 5 posts and you’ll have unlocked 100% of the payment.
  2. How does the land sale work when combined with the conference?

    1. Will we get a post-event report for the DAO/community?
    1. Will there be live streaming of the AI short film premiere?
    1. Which Bollywood IPs are confirmed so far? (Optional).
    1. How will the IP integrations be showcased during the events? Do you have any previous pics, videos?
    1. How will the AI short film help attract new IP partners?

Please find the answer to your questions below.

  1. Yes, there will be post mortem for the event that we can share with sandbox community

  2. We are in discussions for this with the creators, depending on the final allocation, we will be able to onboard and help creators but the idea is to livestream 1-2 originals by our creators, yes.

  3. While most of the partners are contractually signed, a few of them are in the process of signing the agreement and we expect to finish this before we launch the event.

  5. Theme of the short films will revolve around the IP universe which will help the IP get a fresh take on their famous characters and stories.

While I see the need of TSB to expand to Indian market, I tend to be tired about those SIPs funding communication campaigns from TSB and partners. We have been funding sufficient event accross the globe for TSB, I do not think using the time of the community if TSB should go to this or that conference is a wise use of our time. If TSB thinks those are relevant just pay for it.
On top I have to say that seeing another landsale coming after the 2 last ones that were total failures is not my cup of tea at all as lan owner. Land price is at the lowest floor ever, staking has been stopped, landsales are failure and we ar even selling now lands below the 1011 sand historical price via GBM auction.
On the other side ideas of estate support sales pushed by the community; land renting or APIs are heavily challenged.

For me this will be a clear no.

PS: And why not proposing lansale shared revenue with the DAO? We are also asking other studios to propose a revenue share.

That’s a great question. Thanks for asking!
So with BollyBox, we aim to set the stage for creator-and-fandom economy. The idea is to bring Bollywood IPs, studios, and fans together to co-create inside The Sandbox.

We kicked things off with BharatVerse about two years ago. It was our first Land Sale and it focused on showcasing India’s cultural diversity. That was a big success, thanks to the amazing Sandbox community.

Now, with BollyBox we are expanding and taking it a step further, tapping into Bollywood’s massive fanbase and rich IP legacy to build a long-term, entertainment-first Web3 ecosystem.

After launch, we’ll roll out new partnerships, followed by new XPs, avatar drops, and creator programs, all designed to make Bollywood content interactive and playable. We’re also in active discussions to bring major Indian media houses, OTT platforms, and consumer brands with upcoming seasonal campaigns, IRL meetups, and co-branded drops for The Sandbox community. Our goal is to make these IPs a part of daily fan life in the metaverse and make BollyBox the first to do India-centric IP experiences.

Additionally to give you some context about the Indian market, at the moment India is ranked 3rd in terms of total registered users and ranked first in number of individual creators. BharatBox team was able to increase the users by more than 200% since the launch 2 years ago.

We understand the fatigue around LAND sales and promotional campaigns. Your concerns are valid — and they’re exactly why we’re approaching BollyBox differently.

SIP-34 isn’t just another promo. It’s a strategic initiative to activate a powerful cultural vertical — Bollywood — with the goal of bringing in fresh users, creators, and builders from millions of people that already follows this industry.

Through previous BharatBox activations, we’ve already introduced tens of thousands Indian creators and players to The Sandbox.

This landsale is focused on onboarding regional IPs, launching culturally relevant content, and building playable Bollywood experiences with Avatar collection — all designed to attract new users and drive real LAND utility.

We’re also exploring DAO-aligned revenue models and would be happy to co-develop these further in collaboration with the community and global leadership.

I agree with some who are tired of SIP communications, but I admit I don’t really understand how anyone can refuse 30k for visibility in India.
Initiatives have been pushed for a significantly higher cost/ less new comers.
I support this one.
