@empirical Thanks for your great thoughts. It is indeed our aim to help activate as many dormant LANDs with the help of Magic Palette. Procedural level generation and UGC has huge potential here we think. We also agree it needs more than just level design to make a fun game or hub. We see Magic Palette as a bridge and enabler to kickstart many new projects in tandem with the TSB native tools Game Maker or VoxEdit.
@Reizalyn Really nice of you to drop by and let us know that you like our approach. I think for talented Voxel artists like you it will be a gateway to create not only amazing assets but also astonishing levels in voxels now.

@DaruthTheHuman We canāt agree more. We certainly will add more documentation for the Beta launch and will try to guide the new users with tutorials and workflow shorts. As stated in our SIP this is a milestone for Phase II.
@sebga Thanks a lot for your great feedback and vote! The naming comes from the core premise of Magic Palette turning colored voxels into blocks and this is happening through working with palettes. But you have some valid points as it can be also associated more with painting and similar fields.

First and foremost, we want to give a shout-out to the incredible buildersā community, whose enthusiasm and feedback have been instrumental in shaping this tool. Special thanks to the TSB Art and Level Design Teams for their invaluable testing of the MVP during the early development stages, and to the DAO team for their exceptional guidance throughout the entire SIP process from draft to final delivery.
Weāre proud to announce that weāve successfully completed all milestones for SIP-6!
- Phase 3 Milestones:
Live Map Testing Mode: Weāve successfully implemented an in-app testing environment with avatar camera functionality, allowing creators to preview their level design in real-time directly within Magic Palette and in their web browser.
Automated BLOCK Assignment System: The new color-based automation system now intelligently assigns BLOCKs based on median voxel model HEX colors, streamlining the creation process significantly.
Custom Palette Management: Creators can now save and load custom palette files to maintain consistent styles across projects, complete with undo/redo functionality for a smoother workflow.
Beta Web App Release: Weāve launched the Beta version of Magic Palette as a web application, making it accessible to everyone with limited export capabilities.
- Phase 4 Milestones:
Custom BLOCK Support: Weāve developed and implemented robust functionality for loading and utilizing custom BLOCKs, expanding creative possibilities.
LAND Data Transfer System: A data transfer system between Magic Palette and Game Maker has been established, ensuring smooth workflow integration.
Official Launch: Magic Palette has been successfully launched to the builders and creatorsā community, marking a significant milestone in our journey.

This is just scratching the surface and we have already added many other powerful features like direct a Minecraft level data import and additional export formats that expand the possibilities for builders working with Magic Palette tremendously.
Weāre deeply grateful for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from the Sandfam community throughout this development journey. This is just the beginning ā Magic Palette is evolving rapidly, and weāre already working on exciting new features!
