The Sandbox Indonesia Participation in W3GG Gam3 Day Jakarta this August

1. Project Overview

W3GG is seeking a grant of USD 7,800 to support The Sanbox’s participation at “W3GG Gam3 Arena”, in Jakarta this August. Gam3 Arena is W3GG’s premier standalone even- designed as a gateway for Web2 gamers to explore the world of Web3 gaming, the event serves as a curated, high-energy space combining gameplay, community building, and innovation.

Gam3 Arena 2025 is strategically designed as a hybrid event, combining onsite activation at Point Arena Gaming House in Jakarta with online engagement through W3GG’s digital ecosystem and media partners. This format maximizes visibility, accessibility, and interaction, especially for the digitally native generation.

2. Problem Identification

The problem we’re addressing is the need to secure funding to ensure The Sandbox can attend, have pre-event activation through online Voxel learning, and have a presence at "W3GG Gam3 Arena” in Jakarta for both the game test and Voxel Time Attack Challenge. Their presence is critical for leveraging Sandbox’s high visibility to further develop their Indonesian community and fostering the growing Indonesian community for The Sandbox. Without this support, The Sandbox might miss out on a key opportunity to strengthen its market position and capitalize on the strategic partnership with W3GG.

3. Solution Approach

The primary aim of the SIP is to enhance the market penetration at “W3GG Gam3 Arena” by showcasing The Sandbox’s metaverse platform through an engaging booth and interactive demos. This participation will drive community growth, attract local gamers and influencers, and build strategic partnerships.
For Sandbox DAO, this translates to increased brand visibility and valuable market insights. Additionally, the event benefits from heightened engagement and media attention, reinforcing its prominence and innovation in the crypto space. It can also solidify The Sandbox’s position as a leader in the metaverse industry while enriching the overall event experience.

4. Impact Measurement

How will you measure the success of your project? Please define specific, quantifiable metrics you will track (e.g., user completion rates, reduced support tickets, increased creator retention), and explain your target outcomes for each metric.

The measure to success of our event are:

  1. 1,000 participants on the ground and 5,000 online views on W3GG’s platform for the 2-days event (2-3 August 2025.)
  2. 10 full slot for Voxel Time Attack Challenge participation and complete atttandance for both online sessions and during the event itself, a bonus if there are any Indonesian KOLs involved

5. Technical Implementation & Timeline

Outline your implementation plan with specific milestones and deliverables.
For each milestone, include: description of deliverable, estimated completion date, % of total grant requested, how to demonstate full completion.

6. Team Qualifications

I’m Vinzka, the Head of Events and currently leading W3GG in Indonesia. W3GG is a decentralised gaming protocol aiming to empower and reward gamers for playing, contributing and supporting gaming ecosystems. I started my journey with the Sandbox since March 2024 as their Project Manager. I learned about Sandbox as a brand from the ground up with George’s guidance as the Country Manager for Indonesia.

With the achievement that W3GG brings to The Sandbox for Indonesia in 2024, I have learned that I really respect The Sandbox as a brand and committed to always contribute to support The Sandbox through any activation possible. It is very important for W3GG- as a long-term partner of The Sandbox to have them in our first ever Gam3 Arena. We would love to show the community our strength in joining forces to lead the metaverse in Indonesia.

@Geraldine checking my remaining budget I will be able to cover this event with the Season Rewards & Game Creation budget.

I welcome some feedback from the community though. I think this is a good project to help onboard more users in a what I hear is a growing market. But this also I feel falls a little outside my assigned scope.

Is the DAO community happy for me to share my budget for this event?

Personally I like it and I think the budget asked is reasonable.
I’m a little concerned about these numbers:
$3,000 (2 sessions, $1,500 each)
Voxel Online session
90-minute duration per session
10 participants per session
I’m not in the industry, so I’m wondering if a 90-minute online event costs $1,500?
Aren’t we late for Phases 1 and 2?

I agree it would be good to get a little more detail here from @vinzka about some specifics.

  1. We’re already past two dates for the milestones. Is it too late to get started?
  2. Phase 2 has an “unlock payment” with no money mentioned, but I think this might just be a typo.
  3. Can you explain better what the Voxel Online Session is? I can see the “Game Test” at the top of the budget appears to be all of the event fees like stage time, computer rentals, featured promotion, etc. Is this voxel session additional computer rental time? I imagine participation is free for the event attendees, or included in their tickets. Just need some clarity on that.
  4. The name “Voxel Wars” is @Pandapops’s event name. Are you planning on inviting her as the voxel coach, or is the name negotiable?

Hi! Thank you very much for your reply

  1. On the milestones, we can still adjust. We still have time to organize the voxel online session, and we have secured the participants who would like to join

  2. Apologies for the typo there, I have revised the milestone within this SIP: The Sandbox Participation in W3GG Gam3 Day Jakarta (2-3 August 2025)

  3. Gam3 Test is an activity that we will have in the event, it is separate with the voxel session that will be happening on stage. Gam3 test allows the participants to come in to the PC games area, register to The Sandbox and play. This will happen for both days on the 2nd - 3rd of August.

On the other hand, the voxel session it’s going to be a LIVE stage time where people will do a time attack on creating a voxel that we have assigned to them.

In order for them to be able to participate in this voxel session, they will have to join the online session beforehand with a coach (Stefan, a Sandbox studio developer from Indonesia who created Crossy Chick) to teach them how to create the Voxel from scratch. On the day of the event, these participants will have to create the Voxel that they have been taught by Stefan in a time attack format.

To answer your question, in the event itself, during Voxel session, we will have to rent computer on the stage due to some of the participants not having a laptop to bring because they will use their University’s computer lab to do the online session and practice. So during the event, the participants just have to come in, and proceed with the Voxel time attack challenge.

  1. For “Voxel Wars” it is just a reference. We will call the stage time session as “Voxel Creation Time Attack by The Sandbox”

Thank you

Hello! Thank you for your reply

We can still adjust to the budget, however, after a discussion with the Voxel coach, we need at least 2 hours for the Voxel online session. Because the 10 participants will have to learn to create 2 Voxels from scratch. 1 voxel is for the preliminary round, 1 voxel is for the grand final. We will have 20 participants in total on the day of the event, so we will divide it to 2 groups with 2 online sessions. I hope this explains.

For phase 1 and phase 2, we can still adjust on the timeline as we still have time to prepare

Thank you

Hello @money @KamiSawZe this project seems to fall into the education, onboarding and technology category;

Could you specify it this has been accepted? And what would be the final milestones?

The program has ended and thus I will let the DA confirm if they want to follow up with the milestones completion considering this project has not started.

My understanding from Money was that the event was being covered under his domain. Though if needed there was still a little amount left unallocated in my budget if needed to supplement.

Hello @vinzka please submit your KYB for W3GG Protocol Pte. Ltd.
