Q1 Name of your Grant

SandSpark - Community and quality content for The Sandbox

Q2 Total Grant amount in USD ($)

$ 14 880 US$

Q3 Evaluation Factor – Specific

This grant will enable our team to build SandSpark, a high-impact content creation project designed to address two major challenges facing The Sandbox ecosystem today: Firstly, the scarcity of consistently high-quality content creators, and in second place the widespread lack of understanding among gamers and potential investors about how The Sandbox works, how to earn, and how to engage meaningfully with its economy.

Our team of six (content strategists, video editors, and a gameplay creator) will use the grant to produce an ongoing pipeline of professional, engaging, and educational content that showcases the depth and opportunities of The Sandbox.

With this grant, we will:

  1. Produce and publish high-quality informative content covering Sandbox news (new experiences, seasons, etc.) on YouTube, X, TikTok and Instagram.
  2. Create instructive gameplay videos and tutorials that guide viewers step by step through how to play The Sandbox and its different mechanics. These videos will cover everything from account setup and avatar customization to LAND navigation, asset interaction, play-to-earn mechanisms, and participation in events.
  3. Build and manage a Discord community. This will be a space for education, support, and interaction — hosting live Q&As, gameplay hangouts, and challenges to earn different prizes.

Q5 Evaluation Factor – Accountable

Unversed is a web3 marketing agency that creates super high-quality content for crypto companies based in Argentina.

Primary contact (Director): TobĂas K. tobik@unversed.org

Secondary contact (Management and content creation): Maia R. maia@unversed.org

Our agency takes full responsibility for the success, execution, and accountability of this grant. All aspects of content creation, progress reporting, and milestone tracking will be managed directly by our core team throughout the duration of the project.

Q6 Evaluation Factor – Realistic

This grant will have a meaningful impact on The Sandbox ecosystem by addressing current gaps in content visibility and community cohesion with our high-quality media production and community-driven engagement.

We will focus on the following major branches of the TSB Ecosystem: People and Purpose.

People: Our project will support The Sandbox users by simplifying access to information and empowering both new and existing players. By producing easy-to-understand content — including news updates, tutorials, and gameplay’s we will help users navigate the platform, understand its potential, and participate in its social dynamics. Additionally, through our Discord hub, we’ll foster an active community space for players to connect, collaborate, and grow together.

Purpose: The Sandbox is built on the vision of user ownership, creativity, and decentralized participation. Our content demystifies the tools and opportunities of the metaverse. We will enable more people to understand how we play, earn, and contribute and in doing so, promote a culture of inclusion. SandSpark will function as a content-driven bridge between The Sandbox and a broader global audience that may not yet see the value or accessibility of Web3 gaming.

Q7 Evaluation Factor – Timely

The grant will wrap up before August 30, but we’re committed to keeping core operations going for a while to continue supporting the community. If the DAO feels good about the journey so far, we’d be excited to apply for a second grant and take SandSpark’s presence in TSB to the next level—together.

Project website

This is the ideal grant application. It was specific, measurable, clearly laid out a plan and clearly demonstrated the value in funding this grant. It answered follow-on questions before even being asked (such as how noReality/Sandbox Walkthrough benefited from this grant).

Q1: Name of your Grant

  • Score: 5 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Excellent name. Superb creativity.

Q2: Total Grant amount in USD ($)

  • Score: 4 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Within acceptable range, and will apply higher scrutiny due to being above $3K.

Q3: Evaluation Factor – Specific

  • Score: 4 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. Additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Plan is thorough, specific, and it’s easy to understand what you want to achieve. No penalty to your score will be applied if you don’t adjust #3 “Build and manage a Discord community” based on what is requested next. I’m looking for rationale, not a knee-jerk reactive change. Something I want to ask about here is, is this Discord already created? I have no expectation that it is, just need to know yes or no. I want you to carefully consider if Discord is the best place for you to put your energy. I watched some of your unversed.org videos and they demonstrate #s 1 and 2 very clearly. It’s so impactful, I wonder if #3 is truly maximizing your expertise. What about a separate Discord community do you believe is the best place to host Q&As, gameplay hangouts, challenges, etc…versus other platforms, or TSB Discord itself? What about managing a separate community makes Discord the solution of choice here?

Q4: Evaluation Factor – Measurable

  • Score: 4 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. Additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Great job. Milestones are clear. Only input I request is to confirm that in total, you are producing 3+6+5=14 videos, several images (x2), and one giveaway campaign/content challenge. This is what I counted across your 3 milestones for the content you listed you’ll produce.

Q5: Evaluation Factor – Accountable

  • Score: 5 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: It is clear who these two points of contact are. Content videos make them readily identifiable. Content from website itself is clearly from real people, voiceover and animations are crisp and demonstrate quality + expertise in content creation. Per discussion in Discord, please email me confirmation of your ownership of the email addresses for Tobik and Maia.
  • References: 56s Datai advertisement video, 2m Decentraland tutorial video

Q6: Evaluation Factor – Realistic

  • Score: 5 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Clearly laid out how your application will impact TSB ecosystem. Connected it to people and purpose sections. Reference to community cohesion is directly addressing TSB engagement needs.

Q7: Evaluation Factor – Timely

  • Score: 4 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Timeline is cited in Q4 Measurable. Confirmed Aug 30 completion date and offered additional support if required.
  • Note: If successful, is likely to be eligible to apply for second grant.

Q8: Evaluation Factor – Disclosure

  • Score: 5 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: One of the best disclosures inputted out of 20 applications. Even went so far as to answer a natural follow-on question for the third contact identified (noReality) and the connection Sandbox Walkthrough has to the grant’s success. Superb.
  • Note: Transparency and Team Compensation add-on sections instilled confidence in the viability of this grant application and built faith that this team is here to deliver on its proposed goals.

@Tobik

As an aside to the above evaluation. I had a totally random thought occur to me as I was reviewing another grant application…what if you were to do some percentage of your videos in your native language? Again, not going to hurt your evaluation if you don’t think this is a good fit.

TSB has numerous english speaking content. Your content is high quality, so it will fit in great no matter what language. It might be excellent community engagement if we were to produce high-quality non-english content as well, and we have a sizeable Spanish-speaking SandFam…isn’t the percentage something close to 25% @theKuntaMC ?

HI
My name is Adrian, and as you can see, I am one of the individuals involved in this application. I’m from Poland and have been engaged with The Sandbox since early 2022, starting with Alpha Season 2.

I run a YouTube channel focused on tutorials, game insights, and support—helping players navigate events, resolve bugs, and discover ways to work around them.Last year, I even applied for a Sandbox Ambassador position, but unfortunately, they weren’t looking for someone for the Eastern European region at the time.

Our most recent data shows only 8% Spanish speakers.

However, with the low sample size (and pre-existing barrier to reaching those native speakers with our current content), there is certainly reason to suspect that number may be a little higher.

Thank you for providing your inputs, noReality! Fun fact: I’ve been watching your tutorial for years during Alpha Seasons!

I’m happy to see a partnership with the Unversed team. This is a very strong grant application.

Hey @Lanzer! Thank you so much for the thoughtful questions and for taking the time to watch our work, we really appreciate your commitment to SandSpark and the opportunity to scale our project.

Primarily, as for the Q3 rationale aspect in your answer, we carefully considered the fact of forming part of the TSB Discord itself and despite finding it hugely flattering, we do stick to our main goal which emphasizes connecting directly to the community, avoiding possible creative barriers such as the community’s tone, pace and/or specific interests, which potentially will be mostly guided by our team’s closer decisions.

Our vision is to build a tight-knit hub and we aim for users to feel ownership and direct connection with the community, something that could be more difficult to achieve within larger and shared Discord servers.

In second place, referring exclusively to the number of deliverables, indeed the number is 14 videos (5 long, 9 short), adding one giveaway campaign and several promotional images (as many as needed).

Lastly, referring to the Spanish proposal, again we truly appreciate not only that you considered the Spanish community, which we are part of, but also that you aim to empower SandSpark as much as us.
Nevertheless, we sincerely think, as we are just recently venturing into this modality, that we should be cautious for now regarding time and amount of work.
We can maybe leave that for the next grant! What do you think? We assure you that we will be able to be far more confident.

Again, Lanzer, we are truly grateful for your response and hoping we can keep scaling this with your help.
With no further ado, we will be waiting for your response.
Best regards,
Maia!

Okay, understood.

Nevertheless, we sincerely think, as we are just recently venturing into this modality, that we should be cautious for now regarding time and amount of work.
We can maybe leave that for the next grant! What do you think? We assure you that we will be able to be far more confident.

I need help understanding what you mean. A second grant may not come to pass, so I’m more focused on this one. Are you saying that you cannot or it doesn’t fit your grant application to integrate Spanish into some of your videos? What would be the obstacle to doing so? I wouldn’t mind increasing your grant amount to compensate for extra requirements.

Also, when you get a chance, please respond to the additional inputs needed from Q3 and Q4 of my evaluation post. Thank you!

Hello @Lanzer ,

Thanks again for your time and the opportunity.

I’d like to provide some additional context regarding Q3 — yes, the Discord server has already been created, though it has not yet been officially launched.

We chose Discord because it remains the primary platform where most Web3 communities naturally gather, interact, and host activities such as gameplay sessions, AMAs, and community events. We believe it offers the most effective environment to reach and engage users in a format that feels natural to the space.

As Mai previously mentioned, we also felt that having our own dedicated server would allow us to establish a distinct tone and pace — something that may be more challenging to achieve within the broader structure of the TSB Discord.

Regarding Q4, we confirm the deliverables as outlined: a total of 14 videos (5 long-form and 9 short-form), several promotional images as needed, and one giveaway campaign/content challenge.

On the Spanish-language proposal — thank you again for raising this and for your openness to adjusting the grant if needed.

To clarify: it’s not that we can’t include Spanish elements — we absolutely could. However, we believe that doing it meaningfully would require a proper localization approach, not just translation. That means creating content specifically designed for a Spanish-speaking audience, with its own tone, rhythm, and cultural references. In our view, anything less risks coming across as tokenistic or ineffective.

At this early stage of the project, we feel it’s more strategic and sustainable to focus our creative energy on building a strong foundation in one language — English. Once that’s in place, we’d be excited to explore expanding into Spanish with the planning and resources it deserves.

That said, we’d be happy to include Spanish subtitles — or subtitles in other languages if needed — in our YouTube videos, and would be glad to discuss what that might require in terms of additional budget.

Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and continued support. Please let me know if there is anything we haven’t responded to yet.

Thanks.

Q3: Evaluation Factor – Specific

  • Score: Remains unchanged at 4 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Reviewed answers to questions and makes sense.

Q4: Evaluation Factor – Measurable

  • Score: Increased from 4 to 5 of 5
  • Decision: Meets intent of the question. No additional input needed.
  • Rationale: Thank you for confirming.

All 8 answers meet the intent of the question. No additional input needed.

Awaiting response on reply below to see if Q3 Amount will change with Spanish subtitles.

Okay, yes, let’s try Spanish subtitles. Maybe instead of all 14 having Spanish subtitles, do you think it would work better if we only did half, say 7?

What would you like to adjust your amount to in Q2?
