Empowering Women in Web3: A Strategic Partnership between Women in Tech Global and The Sandbox DAO

I appreciate your time.

Could you provide any metrics to assess the recognition of Sandbox and the Women in Web3 Award within Web3 communities?

To assess the recognition and impact of The Sandbox’s Women in Web3 Award, a key metric is the significant growth in nominations. The 2024 edition saw a notable 35% increase in nominations, reaching approximately 700 submissions from across the globe.

The award maintains a consistent structure with:

  • 35 finalists (5 finalists from each of the 7 regions)
  • 7 regional winners
  • 1 global winner

This substantial increase in nominations indicates growing awareness and engagement with both The Sandbox and the Women in Web3 Award within the Web3 community. The high number of nominations also suggests strong recognition of the award as a prestigious platform for acknowledging women’s contributions to the Web3 space. We are confident that in 2025 we may achieve 1000 nominations for this category.

One last question, if I may:

Can you share a specific instance where the success of the Women in Web3 Award has attracted new users, creators, or partners to The Sandbox platform?

The Women in Web3 Award 2024 partnership with The Sandbox was limited to naming rights, without an integrated strategy or metrics in place. For 2025, we envision a more strategic approach: identifying talented nominees in the category, introducing them to The Sandbox platform, providing necessary skilling, and converting interested participants into brand ambassadors.

Our track record demonstrates success in similar strategic partnerships:

  • With Binance, we skilled 1,200 women and girls across Africa and Brazil through Binance Academy courses
  • With The Sandbox, we’ve already hosted successful in-person events at their Paris office, attracting over 120 attendees
  • In the metaverse, we collaborated with World of Women for a Metaverse Party on December 16, 2023, which drew hundreds of participants

These experiences showcase our ability to create meaningful engagement and tangible results through well-structured partnerships, which we aim to replicate and enhance in our 2025 collaboration with The Sandbox.

The Global awards took place in Paris, at the Palace of the President of the French national assembly and under her Patronage.

Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail.
All I want is to ensure that the Sandbox sponsor’s support is reciprocated with equivalent benefits, which I hope will be the case, as it is an important foundation for this SIP to gain support.

Hello @theKuntaMC

Is this kind of strategic partnership more appropriately managed by SandboxDAO or Sandbox.game?

I very much appreciate your insights.

That’s the question this vote will answer!

The answer isn’t defined anywhere, and my personal opinion doesn’t matter.

So, the DAO’s decision in this vote sets a precedent for supporting (or not) these kinds of partnerships.

I don’t like to deflect a question, but this is one that YOU have to answer.

I hope that response suffices here : )

This brings up some question I’ve been having. In general, when a proposal like this comes up:

  1. Does TSB have an existing framework or partnerships in place for proposals like this?
  2. How can we verify that the author hasn’t already approached TSB directly for funding before coming to the DAO? and the other way around.
  3. If the proposal passes through the DAO, will TSB still provide funding separately if approached?

Kunta, I know you might not have those info, but how could we get the information from TSB?
Ideally, the DAO shouldn’t be funding initiatives that already have an official path through TSB or have already partnered with the TSB. I believe we need a lot more transparency; not just for this project, but for future ones as well.
