Hi @sebga thanks for your feedback, we would definitely try to get it livestream as much as possible, we did do it pretty well for the SEA Challenge during AS5 and we’re definitely hoping to allow more people to enjoy and experience it together. The same team who worked with us on that would probably be participating together so it should be a great time for everyone. Will prioritise this a little more
Hi @hishmad Appreciate your response and support. Yes, it’s not been easy this year but we’re still extremely bullish and pushing for massive growth in this region. To me, Southeast Asia has the biggest potential and the community is definitely growing with us. Thank you for your support and hope to answer more questions during the AMA
The Sandbox is positioning itself as a leading player in the decentralized metaverse, and Southeast Asia is a critical growth region due to its young, tech-savvy population and rapid crypto adoption. This event likely aims to build local partnerships, onboard creators, and educate communities—key steps in expanding The Sandbox’s user base and cultural relevance in the region. It also aligns with their focus on fostering user-generated content (UGC) and local brand collaborations, which increases user retention and content diversity.
Expected Outcomes Driving Growth:
Local Creator Onboarding: Educating and equipping Southeast Asian game designers, artists, and brands with tools to build and monetize in The Sandbox.
Community Expansion: Events like these fuel grassroots engagement, wallet creation, and avatar/game asset sales.
Regional Partnerships: The Sandbox may form partnerships with local gaming companies, influencers, and institutions to boost adoption.
Voted yes. TOKEN2049 is a notable event. It gained more attention than expected in Southeast Asia and was one of the first Sandbox events that led me to invest more.
Venue - Glass Dome confirmed and paid (Update: event will be held on 1st October 2025 instead to reduce competition with other events. Our previous experience has proven that running a side event on the 1st Day of Token2049 has good turnout)
Draft of event branding: Please see below. The overall theme is SANDHOUSE:
We have also confirmed some initial partners/community partners for the event to expand the marketing visibility: Animoca Brands, SWITCH (Singapore Week of Innovation and Technology), Women in Blockchain Alliance (WIBA), Animoca Mosaic, DIFY etc
Payment for Merch for the event and delivery of merch will be end Sep
The event Luma page as well as open call for creators’ showcase will be launched soon. If you are a creator who’s interested in a booth showcase, please also feel free to comment on this thread. Once again, I want to thank SandFam and The Sandbox DAO team for the speedy support. Everything is on track and I will be giving more updates as we get nearer to the date.
GMAE @Delegates is anyone coming to Token 2049? A luma invite has been set up so if you’re coming let the team know here so that they can send you the invite and verify it as well.
@theKuntaMC is it possible to tag the domain allocators as well because it seems that function is not available for me
A quick update, we managed to acquire deeper Animoca support for this event. They will be considered a co-host (to help promote the event to a wider group of audience) and Yat Siu will be giving a keynote at the event.
We had a massive success for the event, close to 2000 participants sign-up and ~ 500 attendees. Token2049 remains the largest crypto event in the world, having a presence here helps us remain top of mind for the community.
This year, we managed to get Yat Siu (Chairman, Co-founder of Animoca Brands) to speak alongside Cyril Forte, Administrator from the DAO, Sebastien Borget, Co-founder of Sandbox and global ambassador, Sandchain.
Some reflections: There’s other mega events done by other NFT communities (in large clubs) but one of the core feedback is that at our event, SandFam is the priority. The Sandbox DAO is the heart of SandFam to ensure communities are engaged and HODL. Last but not least, we have managed to deliver an event which is less than 50% of cost compared to other events ($250K) held in Singapore during token.
Thanks once again for everyone’s votes to make this a reality! I will post again when the video is up.
