Weekly Progress Report
Week: Sunday, August 17 – Saturday, August 23, 2025
Overview
This week marked an important milestone in our Web3 Onboarding & Education Grant Program (powered by SandboxDAO in partnership with The Crypto Elites). We successfully held the second workshop on Thursday, August 21st, 2025 which was bigger, more engaging, and more impactful than the first.
Most notably, our participant base grew from 20 registered students to over 70 active learners, showing clear demand and enthusiasm for blockchain and metaverse education.
Highlights of the Week
Second Workshop Event (Thursday, August 21st)
The workshop attracted strong participation, with noticeable enthusiasm from female students, many of whom showed eagerness and readiness to learn.
Speakers & Sessions:
• Ozichi recapped her Blockchain Fundamentals module.
• Qin delivered a comprehensive talk on the Web3 Ecosystem Overview.
• Storm gave an advanced lecture on Smart Contracts & Token Standards.
• MrRightNow led a hands-on training session with The Sandbox Game Maker and VoxEdit tool, guiding students in creating their first metaverse experiences. This allowed students to apply what they’ve been learning practically, boosting their confidence.
Community Support
The “Let Me Buy Your Apechain NFTs” community amplified our program by hosting a live recorded X Space, https://x.com/kewlchick_/status/1958529574637035825 featuring builders who shared their journeys in Web3 and motivated students to take the SandboxDAO grant program seriously.
Guest speakers included:
@kewlchick_, @retardeddough, @eddie_shobiz, @morethenhype, @vandemlau, @Oxsimplefarmer, and @0xkz_consulting.
Key Student Interaction
A powerful question came from a visually impaired female student:
“Since you are teaching we the students about the metaverse, is there a technology in place or near future for those who are physically challenged like me?”
This was a salient moment that reminded us of the need for inclusive design in Web3 and the metaverse, and it sparked important discussions among students and mentors.
Conclusion
The Second Workshop Event was a success, building on the strong foundation of the first. With growing numbers, stronger engagement, and milestone completion, this program is proving its ability to equip African students with blockchain skills while inspiring them to think critically about the future of Web3.
Next Steps
For the next step, students will complete the learning modules on The Crypto Elites website and begin creating a unique project using Sandbox Gaming tools. Mentor pairing has officially started, and onboarding into different Web3 communities is already in motion.
This marks the conclusion of Milestone 2, with focus now shifting toward building and program completion in Milestone 3.

Several students participating in the program are currently sitting for university examinations, which overlap with the program timeline ending August 30th. To ensure fairness and proper completion, we propose granting students an additional one-week extension beyond the program’s scheduled end date.
This will allow them to:
• Complete their projects using The Sandbox tools
• Submit final deliverables via The Crypto Elites platform
• Fully benefit from the mentorship and training provided
The final impact report and student project showcases will therefore be delivered in the first week of September, ensuring the integrity and success of Milestone 3.

Okay, I’ll take a look at this. You should have my evaluation by Sunday night. Please double-check to make sure that all of the deliverables from milestones 1 and 2 have been fulfilled in the documentation you’ve submitted. I’ll do a check of everything against the milestones I identified in Post #57 for milestone 2.
Are you submitting for this Milestone 3 payment ahead of completing the objectives for it in post #24?

Milestone 3 Funding Justification
Dear Lanzer,
We kindly emphasize the importance of receiving the requested Milestone 3 funds ($900) upfront in order to deliver on the final impact and sustainability phase of this program.
All funds disbursed so far have been carefully utilized to make our program a success:
• Two workshops have been executed successfully with strong student engagement.
Both workshops were documented and some of the highlights are shown in two different threads on X

• Six (6) students have fully completed the website learning modules, and their certificates of participation have already been issued.
• Mentors have actively dedicated time and effort to guide participants, and it is important to clear their outstanding balances in recognition of their contribution.
Currently, Milestone 3 activities are already underway. Students are building projects using The Sandbox gaming tools, and we will compile their submissions into the final impact report. Due to the timing of academic examinations, we requested and were granted an additional week so participants can comfortably balance their studies with completing these projects which is expected to come in on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Regarding the objective of connecting participants to internships, job roles, and freelance opportunities:
• Students are still in the process of understanding blockchain fundamentals.
• Once certified, they will be better positioned to take on roles.
• We have already reserved opportunities within The Crypto Elites community for top-performing students, and more pathways will be unlocked through mentorship and partner networks.
The upfront release of Milestone 3 funding is therefore essential to:
• Support the ten best students with an incentive of $50 in $SAND tokens who designed a project using any of the Sandbox Gaming tools and successfully completed the modules on the Crypto Elites.
• Settle mentor balances for their ongoing commitment.
• Document, report, and showcase the program’s total impact.
• Ensure a smooth transition from training into practical opportunities for participants.
This final phase ensures that the program leaves lasting value, not only for the students but for the broader Web3 and Sandbox ecosystem.

Excellent. This is the rationale I needed to see. Thank you. How many students are you training per deliverable 2 and how many student-led blockchain projects per deliverable 1?
If you can give me a little bit of specifics there, I will feel more comfortable approving this milestone.
I see the working you and your team have put into this, you’re doing a great job

Deliverable 2:
We currently have over 31 verified users on the Crypto Elites website, out of which 7 students have fully completed all modules and quizzes. These students will be prioritized for the internship opportunity which opened up in our community once they have finalized their projects and received mentorship.
On our Telegram channel, we have over 70 users, many of whom are active participants and still progressing through the learning phase.
Deliverable 1:
At least one confirmed student-led project is already underway. One of the students I mentor has completed the modules and has gone ahead to build a game using The Sandbox Game Maker, which he is now improving in quality. This project will serve as a showcase of the program’s impact and proof of skills acquired.
To further support this, I have submitted:
• Screenshots showing verified user data from our website https://thecryptoelites.com and Telegram channel. Telegram: Join Group Chat
• A WhatsApp conversation with the student mentioned above, confirming his Sandbox project development progress.
We are confident that with the release of funds for Milestone 3, we can continue providing mentorship, finalize project support, and deliver the impact report that highlights the initiatives and opportunities created for participants.
This will not only sustain the momentum of the program but also motivate more students to develop and build within The Sandbox ecosystem.
